Yep, sneaky buggers.

How did you enjoy being part of it mate?

To be honest, like mentioned by someone else above I never twigged until Kreese made that call at the end. The Mrs couldn’t understand why I was so excited ha ha. I kept saying “he’s calling Silver... he’s calling Silver”. It was great.

Maybe Robbie will recruit Daniel's son to Cobra Kai lol, there you go.
I get the feeling they are keeping that storyline for future-future series down the line.

Like 30 years from now. :drunk:

Glory be, if Im still posting on this thread in 30 years, just shoot me.

The best bits that season were in 'Japan', particularly the redemption of one character. I hope we see more of those characters.

When Daniel meets the girl he saved he includes a line about her perfect English which I think is a bit of a nod to the 2 other Japanese characters played by actors having grown up in the US and having no hint of accents themselves in real life, or Pat Morita for that matter.

In series 2 didn’t Kreese tell Johnny that an old war buddy offered him a job but he turned it down? Could that have been Silver?

If it’s as simple as making a phone call and Silver comes running, I wonder where Silver has been the last 10 years while Kreese has been living in a shelter? Wouldn’t the billionaire help him out???

Must be some story in there....
Kreese said he was too prideful to accept help from his 'old army buddy' as it felt like a handout last season. Also for all we know Terry Silver could have lost his fortune.

Its a misdirect IMO.

Too obvious to be Silver, could it be Mike Barnes?

Could be. But the directors specifically refer to Silver in the interview link I posted above.

Just read it. Neither confirms nor denies it.

Cobra Kai has form of misdirecting a lot. I think its too obvious to be Silver. Again I could be wrong.

IIRC I think the actor who played Silver has retired?

Would love to see a Johnny v Barnes fight also? I find it impossible in that universe that they didnt know of each other or at least heard of each other.

Fantastic fun. Really thought this season was going to be light on the laughs after the events in season 2 but there was a nice mix. Some parts go a bit over the top bit thoroughly enjoyed it.

+1

Its a fun show, that draws upon movies from a simpler time that combines that with life in the present day.

I have to say looking back on the movies, I think Daniel is the real bully. :drunk:

There's still some great dramatic writing in this, like when Johnny is trying to reach out to Robbie and it isn't going well so he snaps that he wasn't the one to put Miguel in hospital, and instantly undoes his good work.

Enjoyed watching Johnny telling Robbie he wont fight him. Showed a few things, in particular he is a decent man that loves his son.

One point that has not been address in any youtube review, is that Daniel appeared prepared to deliver a killer blow to Kreese, with Johnny's blessing, but his daughter Sam yells out just before he could deliver the hit.

Probably the darkest moment loomed for Daniel right there.

Johnny messed that up too by pushing Robbie unknowingly in to a cabinet and knocking him out.

Not that this is confirmation of anything but interesting that it would be included in an article

”The new headline guest star from previous films coming back for the series is Thomas Ian Griffith who plays Terry Silver.”

Their Twitter page does mention that they aren’t affiliated or owned by Netflix. Seems like the assumption is that Thomas Ian Griffith will be involved even though he is retired from acting. Wouldn’t be the same without him.

With all the build up, if Cobra Kai haven't got Griffith returning, they need to be careful with how they handle it. It has the potential to be a jump the shark moment.

I'd be surprised if he isn't returning with what they have done with the story so far. I mean, I'm pretty sure Elizabeth Shue had agreed to return when they started the Facebook subplot in S2.

In Season 4 id like to see Hawk vs Kyler kind of play out a ton more and in general both characters being much more included. Probably two of the more interesting sub characters

Also Hawk is easily the best actor in the fighting scenes

If I had one negative point to raise about the series, is that each episode could be longer and so could each season. Nothing dramatic, but I think a 40min episode in a 12 episode season would be perfect and fulfilling. Even if there was one or two filler episodes, it would and could give depth to other characters.

I know there is the balance of quality over quantity.

Her I'm not a fan of grott. I'd rather not see the Million Dollar boys don't cry actress in CK.
Without boring everyone about the details, as Swank is linked to Netflix-Sony productions and the fact that the writers have said that KK4 does exist in the Cobra Kai universe, it seems logical that she will be in the series at some stage. Mind you I expect it to be like one episode rather than an entire season.

I have a theory of how this will all end. They will set up a future series in years to come IMO. When the child actors are grown adults with their own teenage kids. So I expect a few open endings with everything.

Daniel-San a Grand Father. :drunk:

Which means we also have a few other villains to introduce yet....
