Dude, I've been backing Sylvia all year but he's running out of games to show his value. He's yet to have a break out game for us and his position isn't safe. I want to see him succeed but it doesn't look like he can figure it out this year.

Well, until Walters is available this proposition(dropping Slyvia) is moot. Who can replace him?

Morabito did not perform either. The forward line as a whole is a shambles.

The midfield cracked.

Slyvia is innocent of all but an equally shared responsibility for the loss.

De boer will replace him. Ballas will come in next week.

If Sylvia goes he's got to take Chris Mayne with him.

Mayne's struggles are Slyvia's excuses.

The forward line are paying the price for downfield issues (lack of skill, composure/decision making, movement, structures)

Slyvia is a victim not a perpetrator of this diabolical performance.

Sylvia is a massive failure by Freo - no intensity, loosely jogs to position/cover then realizes he has to run flat out but too far behind - wrong attitude for serious footy

Andrew or Poker or whoever the hell you are Sylvias a dud, didnt perform at Peel and got a game on reputation
Didnt deserve to be played on his Peel form
Mora also shows how far of the pace he is

More like bananas and plantains, their roles aren't really too different and Sylvia doesn't offer the same tackling pressure that Mayne still applies in a down game.

We don't know the facts just yet - Slyvia has an inherit attacking license given his skill and talents, this means he has to sacrifice some defensive work in order to provide us with more goals (which will come).

Besides, his lumbering gait is more indicative of injury/lack of conditioning than laziness. Lyon doesn't play lazy players, the fact Slyvia got a game means he is not lazy.

Sylvia won't play next week.

I beg to differ.
Griffin/Taberner et al., the players who came in and destabilized a well-functioning team (prior to this game) will be dropped.

It's a matter of flicking the switch back to last week, which Slyvia was apart of.

Lack of conditioning after nearly a full season, really:rolleyes:
Please dont insult our intelligence

Ok, is Colin leading to create space for others? Is he blocking for others? Is he guarding space? Is he getting to contests?

He has a reputation, that is enough to drag a defender with him.

A reputation that will also give him extra time to obtain form/confidence/conditioning. I hope.

Where is his skill?

It has been quashed by the shroud of uncertainty playing in a floundering team inflicts on him.

Form may waver but talent is permanent.

The only way we'll get to see Slyvia's dazzling skills (and he does have them) is to back him in.
