Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating, please let us know using our brand new contract submission form."

Do we need to talk about Justin Leppitsch?

Brought in Harry Perryman on enough to trigger Band 1 compo.
His thoughts on the value of Noble / Pick 13 / Houston are seriously nuts.
Could he be better utilised in a non-thinking role?
Nice one mate haha, i think we are utilizing him just fine.

900k a year for Perryman is very much overs. Good player but probably on as much or more than Houston. Bringing in players of his standard on that money is not a sustainable model. Geelong for instance seem to have a model of underpaying players somewhat. Not sure how long you can go players not picks. But they’ve put themselves in contention next season.

900k now for Perryman.

By the time the season start again, he will be on a reported 1.2 mil.
Surely you are bright enough to not believe everything you hear.

Personally I dont know, or care. He is a player that fills a need, so if we have the cap space and cost us zero draft capital, then that is a yes from me :thumbsu:

They are just about having a laugh now, the pies.

How many 30+ year olds do you want to bring in at once?

I love the enthusiasm.
On November 1, Tim Membrey will become the first player on Collingwood's list acquired at 30 years or over (he is 30)

He will be the first since Daniel Wells in 2016

We have a old list but most of them have become role players or replacable. With the addition of Houston and Perryman they can slot in a replace 2 of them right off the bat for 4-7 years.

Having said that they have been mostly replaced by the following players although they still are in the team but much more fridge then they were before.

Pendlebury= N Daicos has slotted right in
Sidebottom = Lipinski or Quaynor (liked the look of Quaynor last year. Houston and Perryman free Quaynor as well)
Howe = a lot of bakman can do his job. Dean, Moore, Maynard etc with a few others as possibilities as well.
Cox = is a tough one but Smit and the future Condon looks likely. No imediate replacement.
Elliott = Hill and Schultz have replaced him but he still gets a gig. Harvey Harrison takes his spot long term.
Crisp = Perryman or Houston
Mihocek = No real replacement but Membrey looks like a player who can do similar things in the short term.
Mitchell = Allan, Long, Sullivan, McCreery or Perryman
WHE = Perryman or Houston (off the half back) has sort of lost his forward role as a flanker but then replaced Mihocek as a full forward for a while. Has nice skills but has been mostly borderline for the past few years anyway.

To summarise most of our older players are now fringe and although they are still in the team they are replaceable. They offer great leadership and are still useful but easily replaceable.
