I think there’s a strong possibility next year that northern clubs will only be able to afford to match 1-2 high end prospects. We could see a lot more academy players being drafted by different clubs now, which is how it should be.
I agree, that's likely what will happen as they won't be able to match multiple top end players without going into deficit.

If GC have a potential number 1 candidate next year that’s strong incentive for them to trade 12 in to next year too. Hopefully we can take advantage of that. We never seem to be able to though.

Had a quiet day. Wind was a struggle, but had a couple good plays.
But this whole exposure at the level will only benefit him moving forward. He'll be better for it.

But special day for the McGuane family. Given he'll be busy in his draft year in 2025, this will unlikely happen again. Father coaches son to his senior premiership

With all due respect to Mick McGuane, and he was a magnificent player - I was at the Carlton game where he took that infamous run... But it is an absolute miracle that his children look the way they do considering who their father is.

Definitely take after Mum,s side of the family thank goodness, but if Thomas has a bit of his Dad,s nous he should go alright. I must admit I thought exactly like you seeing that photo.

It's a miracle he has children, looking like that.

Maybe we should be drafting more boofhead types with an eye to FS selections. McGuane, Daic’s, Clokey, Davis all good while we haven’t seemed to have had as much success out of the pretty boys.

Does make me wonder how Ned’s lads didn’t cut the mustard though. Should have been absolute stars.

Good point. Saints have gotten nothing out of father son despite the army of kids that Trevor Barker would have sporned.

Mick will have him ready. It would be handy having a dad who understands football so well
For sure. He would know how to best prepare him going into his draft year.

First up, he has the U17 futures game.
