I have both 360 and PS3 and PS3 kills it by the length of the flemington straight.... However, Xb360 has a much better online system... I guess you get what you pay for... Plus all my friends are on 360 so I do most of my online gaming on that. I used to plaY WoW alot........... I refuse to play MMO's now as it consumes your life.. Having said that i wouldn't mind trying DC Universe... lol

I play mainly Black Ops and Halo: Reach but play pretty much everything that is good. Love Fifa but only ever hire it and haven't got into it online at all. Won a GH comp at the release of GH3 and once was rated in the top 2000 in the world but don't really play it anymore though I own them all and its good to bash it out every now on then.

Anyway, anyone that wants to add me my user ID on both PS3 and XB360 is "Hellspeth"
 
I play a bit of Xbox 360 wouldnt say im a gamer or anything. Just like to relax and play games like Call Of Duty black ops and modern warfare 2, FIFA 11 and Halo Reach from time to time :)

New AFL game on PS3, XBox 360

Comes out in april apparently..

The wierdest thing though, the front cover is a montage of players... 4 in fact, 3 of them collingwood, 1 carlton...

The players are;

Chris Judd
Cameron Wood
Jack Anthony
Chris Dawes

and on the back they have a computer animated Josh Fraser and Sandilands about to duel in the ruck.... Maybe someone should tell them to update the pic... lol

Different stores have been printing their own "jackets" for the pre sale game covers, so that's probably what the OP saw, just a store "made" jacket.

I've gotta get that game for Xbox 360 when it comes out. I noticed the St. Kilda jerseys are the 2011 version from one of the screencaps, hope it's like that for all the teams because otherwise it just feels a little "out of date" if you know what I mean.

Yep 2011 Pies gear too, CGU sponsor logo & what looks to be the gold AFL Premiers logo.

I can't wait for the Xbox Kinect version to come out... might have to wait till next year though... imagine lining up to kick a goal from 60 after the siren to win the grand final... adjust you hand positioning to wind up a massive torp!.... WOOOOO!!

my only hope is that it is worthy of a 7/10, as that would eclipse just about every other AFL game ever made...they have a horrible reputation of being clunky, unrealistic and severely lacking in gameplay (considering modern alternatives such as FIFA and NBA 2k)

i know they would have a miniscule budget, but i will be really disappointed if it mirrors ricky ponting cricket or something (where you can play a test series or a world cup and that's about it, no story mode, no career mode, just like you've popped $2 bucks in an arcade machine and you don't plan on playing the game for more than 20 minutes)

Don't get your hopes up too much.

Not to denigrate the developers of this game, but every AFL game has been crap. People go on about AFL 99/98 being the best but they were pretty awful themselves.

I don't care about features I care about game play. I don't care if you can't edit anything, if you can't play a season, I don't care if it's Nintendo 64 graphics. If they dedicated everything to making the gameplay realistic and fun and pulled it off I'd pay $150 for it. Then they can build features from there. No use having the best graphics, best animations, the best draft system, realistic awards, customisation, great environmental systems if the game is just not playable.

They'll never get to the level of NBA2K11 (best sports game ever, one of the best games of 2010), FIFA (overrated IMO), Pro Evo Soccer or Madden due to budgetary reasons. Talent-wise Australia seems to have plenty of talented people in the industry but a lot of them work overseas or for a big studio/publisher. Look at the Aussie studio developing LA Noire for Rockstar (makers of GTA/Red Dead Redemption), many Aussies worked on Team Fortress 2 (which is why there is so much humour in the game at the expense of Australians) and maybe Portal (I'm not sure about this) but worked in America.

^Pretty skeptical way to look at it I think. Different developer with an actual interest in the game, in comparison to the previous versions, already guarantees a much better product as far as I'm concerned. Just not sure how much better it's going to be but if you believe the people who've had a look at it (Jason Hill's preview and that Glenno dude over on the games section) then its going to be pretty good.

i would normally steer clear of a game demanding that sort of coin, but i would probably make an exception for an aussie developed AFL game, if they don't make decent profits from this then they won't be making another any time soon

Every game is about $110 RRP. JB would have it around $89. EB Games often sell at that ridiculous RRP. I know it is a recommended retail price passed down on them by game and console developers but AUstralians pay too much for games and it's time the retail industry started putting this issue in the spotlight and push back on them.

Or they make the games in aus. Cant see a huge market for it o/s to be honest
