Your referring to this article right ???

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,26152643-5012432,00.html

It is believed Collingwood is not ready to deal away its first-round pick, does not have players it wants to involve in a trade, and is restricted in how much of Fevola's $1.4million salary bill it can pay. The Blues are understood to be agreeable to paying half of Fevola's wages over the next two years.

So Collingwood won't trade players, their 1st rd pick, and are only willing to pay for a small portion of his salary ???

lmfao, typical Collingwood trade offer

I would prefer to see him playing in the Ants than trading with the Pies if this is the crap they are willing to offer !!!!!!!

I don't think you can believe anything been reported right now.

What I will take is:

- Yes we are interested

- We have had discussions

There is absolutely no hope collingwood will get Fevola without using its first round pick...especially if Carlton are paying the contract. If we are paying the contract, then we can get him in a better deal. Still will involve the first round pick but.

I suppose that's why they call it the silly season Dave. We hear all these rumours and only about 1% of them actually have any substance. All will be revealed next week, until then we sit tight.

Even if we did which i have heard we did and you guys were happy with it

Why would any club put there best offer up first you dont do that in business so what makes it any different in football

Check the journo lingo in that paragraph: "It is believed..."

That tells me that the journo is speculating. He/she isn't even using a source just giving an opinion and trying to disguise it is something more. The Pies would be realistic and know that its pick 14 and a sweetner, particularly if the Blues are covering around half the salary. Still can't believe the Blues are gunna trade Fev...he's iconic to me. He is Carlton. Hope he stays there.

Expect that any deal for Fevola will involve Carlton contributing anything up to $600K towards his salary over the next 2 years. I'd suggest that for Fev to get to Collingwood, the pies would have to offer as a minimum a 1st round pick and a player. However believe which ever team ends up securing Fev, will be getting a "bargain" by only paying Fev around $400-450K a year.

Is that what you told Collingwood when they knocked on your door with this supposed offer?

Or are you just so full of self importance that you think your opinion counts in the matter?

Um *******, the quote was from the article ............. Try reading some time and you will prevent making an ass of yourself. If your supporter makes a claim that Collingwood has made an offer to Carlton based off of an article they have read, and the article says that is what the club IS NOT willing to offer, then the offer was obviously crap ...............

Read the article again and read between the lines. We do not want to trade our first round pick but does not mean we will not trade to get one from another club to on trade to the Blues.

I have heard it is a lot closer than people think and will involve one of the WA teams.

Pick 14 + Anthony although they're asking for Cloke.
Blues to pay half the salary.
SEN.

Although its a stupid SEN comment, you'd think Collingwood's goal would be to retain their 2 forwards.

Fev needs to be the focal point, but he also needs assistance.

Cloke plays his best football up the ground as a roaming HFF. That means he is not getting in Fev's way. Fev is a stay at home full forward. We need both, otherwise we are not improving the team.

Although Cloke frustrates me and I'd trade him for any other CHF in the league, Fevola does not fill the role Cloke does. You'd think with Cloke doing the long leading and Fev at home, we'd have a nice balance.

Cloke.....no thanks, Anthony.....no thanks and us to pay half of Fevs salary ? Collingwood have NOTHING we want and wouldn't trade with them anyway !!!!!!!! Could not stand to see Fev in a Pies jumper !!!!!!!!!

I think Blues supporters are overvaluing Fevs worth. Hes 29 and has 3-4 yrs MAX to offer and has alot of baggage, hence why the club that hes been at for 10yrs doesnt want a bar of him.
Pies will not give Carlton half the list for such a short term gain.
Also reported today that Carlton was considering a swap to Brisbane for Bradshaw. If that were the case than Carlton are getting desperate to consider a 31yo who has a year left in his career. Bradshaws had a good career but hes past it. Its good to see abit of karma come back to Carlton if they get duudded in this deal, with the way they went about getting their list together.
Whose to say Fev wont go to a new club and pull the same shenanigans, his a HUGE RISK and Carlton knows it.

There is one key matter that Carlton supporters are failing to acknoweldge, Fev is a contracted player! As such he has to agree to any trade!

If he decides he wants to go to the Pies, Carlton have to deal with us or make a peace deal with him and retain him. Now some suspect that they plan to keep him and if that is the case there is no problem but if they have to move him on, they will be between a rock and a hard place.

What I am hearing is that we will deal fairly but not over-pay.

So, in other words, you have no say in this and all your bleating about the process wont have him playing in the Ants!

Fremantles and the Eagles 1st rd picks are #4 and #7 respectively. You are telling me that the Pies want to hold onto their #14 pick but are willing to trade for #7 just so they can pass it onto us ???

The possible trade with the Eagles I have heard is Davis for #7, then #7 on to Carlton. Throw in your #30 pick and you may get a nibble. That said, the article said you wouldn't trade any players to Carlton yet you are willing to trade with the Eagles to get a pick for us ??? That is so generous of you !!!!!!!!

Collingwood wouldnt be able to get Fev we dont want Cloke or Anthony and Dawes. They arnt even that good.
Anthony prbz the best but doesnt kick enough goals for a big foward and not as dangerous.

As long as the deal doesn't involve Chris Tarrant, i'll be happy!
On the Carlton board, the names McKinnley or Spangher have been mentioned.
