Looks like we are getting Tarni White. But Lambert gone :(

WHile this sucks, maybe a listr refresh isn't a bad thing. We kept contending but never have been good enough to go all the way.

I think we need a regeneration of the list, it's been pretty much the same old heads we have depended on the last few years without much success.
Don't mind Chiocci going, she is 34, and you would think probably her last season on field. She looks to be taking a combined off field role with the Saints.
Lambert will be 31, and as good as she is, she isn't on the upward curve, and to get in a 22 year old midfielder like White, will be a good inclusion for our team.
Hopefully that's all that departs this off season and no other surprise defections happen, but with the AFLW, nothing will surprise....

Thanks for trying to see something positive in all this. I agree about Chiocci, but Jamie has been a midfield workhorse, especially after Davey and Bonnici went down. They’ll be back in August, and the loss of Jamie will be lessened.

I hope whoever we draft will help our goal kicking. Our scoring has been dire, with many of our wins coming off our excellent defence. Livingstone hasn’t much more left either.

Chiocci can go. Her antics on socials havn't won me over recently. She is old now and i'd prefer a younger player to play her wing.

Cann is a big loss......suspect she is getting a big pay rise to move. Was on the hawks VFL list from memory. so there that link.

Lambert - getting older and also looking to cash in (which is fair enough). Massive loss this year.

Getting White back offsets Cann.
Cannot replace Molloy.
But the money i've heard she will be on is just ridiculous.
No amount of loyalty or culture would ever 'win' in this scenario.

We move on....limit the damage and try and keep the nucleus of youth together until expansion is done.

The Hawks are however set to miss out on Collingwood youngster Mikala Cann, who is understood to have agreed to remain a Magpie. The Pies will lose the dynamic Chloe Molloy to the Swans, while the Saints are pursuing Pies ball magnet Jaimee Lambert and veteran skipper Steph Chiocci.

I have intel that Cann will stay. However, I'm curious, how many of you have completely lost interest in the AFLW season to the point that there is no point?

Not me. There will be plenty of players on our list I'll enjoy watching. For me its about the club, not the players. Don't get me wrong, I'm filthy on the AFL that they've set up a system that disadvantages us. But I still watched the 2019 season where Molloy didn't play a game, 2023 won't be any different.

And even if its a tough season where we don't win many games, I can still enjoy barracking against Carlton.

I'm this too. Losing players sucks and hate what the league have done with giving the expansion sides this advantage; but I support the club no matter who plays. So I'm still looking forward to the season. We still have bri and britt.

We'll see what happens in the trade period soon enough

I’m more annoyed by the changing season dates.

I’ll keep watching, new players will emerge, l love watching the girls at Vic Park, it’s still evolving.

Can I ask, why the doom and gloom?

Required players leaving sux, and we've been through this before when Norf stole our 4-5 top players at the time, of which Garner is probably still consistently in the top 5 players in the league today. And in that period we were being coached in a style (IMO) that was just not conduive to the talent we had, nor the overall maturity of the team and even the club to be brutally honest. But got through .... and we'll get through this. I still have my AFLW membership and don't see a need to give it up.

I think the focus should be more on the coaching staff and plan, than worrying about an individual leaving. So what do we do with the talent we have? How are players like EJ really developing? How will use Bri and Brit now we have lost Lambert and Moy? Do others need a role change? I'm a fan of Steve, but I think we were totally pwned in some games even before the ball was bounced. We all know our FWD sux, and losing Moy doesn't help.... but I think our transition and how the talent is coached is more the issue rather than individuals leaving.

I think it is more about why would people invest into the team emotionally i.e. go to every game, buy jumpers with player numbers, take kids to family days, collect signatures, etc. when you know the AFLW managment could change the rules at any stage.

The AFLW needs to have a clear growth path for say the next 5 years. Games per season, time of year played, number of teams (tassie?), when the draft will be, what age the draft will be, etc.

How is it fair to Carlton for example a team that won 2 games and finished 14th that Hawthorn and Essendon who won more games than them get to sign PSP players and they get none but also have lost a former 2nd draft pick player via PSP?
Imagine being a Carlton AFLW supporter. You follow a crap club, have no AFLWCEO, no AFLWcoach, and you loose one of your best players for nothing but an AFLW promise of a future draft pick.

I think it's because this is our fourth raid I believe, and you know we are going to get piss all compensation and this may keep happening if Sydney can't win a game next year. That being said losing Chloe Molloy in particular really hurts a fans commitment. It's not that she's the best player on our list but for a girl that bleeds black and white to sell out just shows that everybody has their price. And by definition she literally has sold out, I'm not just saying that because I'm unhappy she's gone, it's a fact.

In other news, Tarni White was seen training at Collingwood today so she might as well be a lock for the trade with Lambert and Chiocci.

We have committment from Tarni White, no matter what happens with those two. But a trade is required. I did see a blonde this afternoon, I couldn't figure who it was.

I think so, she has a tattoo of a poker card on her right bicep.
Thats a good sign, I was wondering who she was as I didn't recognise her. She in that case, did a skills and running session with Bri, Lin, Allen, Butler, Chaston, possibly brit was there too.

Why is Chaston still there?
