Ollie Henry was wearing Geelong gear today, just FYI.

Shocked that he’d be wearing Geelong gear at the Grand Final he attended to support his brother who plays for Geelong.

I’m of the opinion he’s leaving, to be clear, but he’d have been wearing that gear even if he wasn’t.

Don’t they have a salary cap ??

Dunno. They all seem to play for unders.

The Cats players all sounded so humble and genuinely grateful to play for that club when interviewed after the GF today. It’s a player-driven culture that started under Bomber Thompson and Tom Harley with that star-studded line-up that they kept together for much longer than seemed possible.

We still seem to have to pay overs to get players to come to and stay with us - but hopefully that is now changing.

I might be old school, but wearing the colours of an opposing club when you’re a player elsewhere is s**t. You can be supportive without adorning their colours.
Marc Murphy says Hi haha. Always the go to reference. Bastard.

That’s pretty ordinary. Go along and support by all means but don’t wear the gear when you’re still officially on the list of another team.

Tom De Koning (Carlton) was there supporting his brother too but he chose to dress neutrally. Much classier.

Chicks need an excuse to go shopping?
Haha.
It was food shopping with mum.

I shouldn't have bothered. It was a real struggle. I currently have Laryngitis and so any movement was a real effort. Felt like I was about to collapse in the supermarket.

Grocery shopping is the pits. 👎

They're a bloody impressive football club.

Mate, he’s played almost 75 games of AFL, and has had entire seasons of good football. It’s not like some random reserves player who nobody has watched - there’s plenty of footage.

Cal Brown has played nearly 75 games, got there with 1 less season at the club than Fiorini has had. He's played some good footy. There's plenty of footage. Neither are able to entrench themselves in their respective senior teams. Brown has just been delisted. Your point?

They didn’t make a blood oath to not recruit him.

They weren’t reigning Premiers suddenly thinking about how to go back-to-back when they said that. They are free to change their mind/strategy.

Why would a premiership suddenly think they need DeGoey?
They have Bruhn coming into that midfield, plus have they have some others that can easily play through their midfield, if Selwood finishes up, such as Holmes, who didn’t even play today....

Don't have a "full read on his quality" and "likely" will be better than those listed, yes. He's shown more than they have in the AFL to this point is what I'm saying.

Which is fine, they're younger. But that's the reason we have interest in Fioroni. Some of these younger players may not yet be ready to play at AFL level, at least not in an inside mid role.

Well he's had 4 times longer on a senior list than Macrae and McInnes, and 8 times longer Harrison and Murley. That's a lot more time and opportunity to show his wares and shine. Yet he hasn't established himself in their senior side. After 8 seasons.

I'm happy for you to be thrilled at the prospect of a shiny new toy. I'd rather we give opportunity to players we already have and invest further in the draft.
