so riddle me this...why isn't the AFL integrity unit all over it or why hasn't a half-decent AFL journalist gone sniffing around?
OK, so forget the half-decent part...too much to ask for
I'm sure all clubs help out their players where they can, it just gets easier when your club's benefactor essentially runs the entire city.

Considering how quickly it got signed it sure looks like someone caved and I'm betting it was us with our past record.
What is the obsession with having to look like we "win" every deal, even basic contract negotiations? The stand off is resolved. That's all that should matter.

Given we had cap space for McStay, Hill ect the past two years after clearing $1.5m off the books in 2020.

Could we have paid out all of Treloars $1.5m in advance last year and this year, and no longer need to pay anything in the next 3 years?

Rather than inflation erode the 5th payment in 2025, and we had cap space, you would take the advanced payment. This might be sorted already?

Makes me think now, when anyone says we could be paying 2 players salaries at others clubs next year. Then its really one.

Its too far to travel down the road remember? And the Addy journo's are just GFC nuffies.

They also don't just have ONE benefactor. GFC players have "golden tickets" to most stuff in Geelong from private schools to meals and entertainment.

And cotton on for life, for them and their families.

I reckon they don't even pay for meals or drinks.

They definitely could not have hurt and what was our weakness last season? Contested footy/clearances and our forward line

Taylor was a massive loss and I think Mitchell could massively help us in the first area, and obviously McStay and Hill in the 2nd area

So many oppo fans are saying we will drop off massively next season, some even say to bottom 4, but "haters gonna hate".
If you don't love the Pies you hate them mate. You know how it is and we wouldn't have it any other way.

If that's what the oppo fans think, they are in for a rough year then. Give Fly another offseason to hone what we've already learned, tweak his game plan and add some missing pieces and I think we'll be a nightmare for all the other teams next year.
