Maybe someone needs to explain to you that you can on trade picks. Wait until the end of the trade period before having digs at the club. Noone can try rip us off for Daicos points now.
Literally I said IF the pick gets eaten up by the bid THEN it’s a bad trade.

Otherwise it’s a decent trade.

You clearly are incapable of reading so welcome to my ignore list.

This is a good deal under the assumption that pick 22 doesn’t just get eaten up by the bid.

If it does it really is a shocking result.

But now we can take several players in the third round (including Dib who we could likely have taken with our last pick regardless)!

Lol our club needs to hire someone to explain to them how the drafting/bidding system works then.
Or we just got to let it play out first.

or use them part of Kreuger/Lipinski Trades

Lol you quoted half a post and deleted the part that mentioned unless it gets traded. People on this board love having a crack at the club and muting anyone who disagrees.

I'd be interested in people thoughts on Jared Brander and whether he was worth chasing - too good to not be on an AFL list in my view, and may come cheaply. Not sure what the knocks on him are but there is a lot to like about his size and can play forward or back.

I would think we'll trade pick 22. For example, to Bulldogs for Lipinski and their future 2nd, which would get us back into 2022's 2nd round.
We might trade for other picks in this year's draft, 22 for Richmond's 38 & 42 - worth about the same points.
I'm sure something like this is in the works.

Would you rather that or take someone at pick 22?

Not sure why we didn’t just do all the late pick swaps for now.

Then reserve future 2nd for pick 22 once the bid has been made and all the late picks are used up. This allows us to select a top end talent thatjust barely slides out of the first round.

Surplus of 238 points 👍

With a bid at 1 we’d have picks 58, 65 and 79 leftover.

Better than that, I think we've got 2,940 points now, a surplus of 540 on pick 1. We have 926 more than we need for pick 2 and 1,153 more than pick 3.

So Collingwood won't be able to use 22 at the draft?
We can use it before the draft, or on draft night, more likely do a deal when nick gets called out,
It gives us some flexibility

So Collingwood won't be able to use 22 at the draft?

We have a lot of flexibility around how we use it, but the reality is we won’t have 22 as a live pick without making a number of moves. What is probably best to focus on is that in order for us to have a live pick of similar or the same worth on draft night we would need to acquire it after a bid on Daicos has been matched 👍

If we can get 300 more points from somewhere (Lynch, Cox, Sier etc) then we will have enough points to be able to trade out pick 22 again.

Meaning we can perhaps exchange it for a 2nd rounder next year and people won't have to whinge too much.
