I haven't heard either regarding Adams and Crisp, but they were signed up to long contracts when we were in the height of trying to keep the list together with a really tight cap, so it's likely that money would have been deferred.

There's been an effort to restructure the cap since then. We lost 3 players and are only paying some of Treloars salary. I doubt there is much impact any longer.

Would really hope and sort of expect so. The fact we have reportedly offered contracts to guys like Bobby Hill suggests we should be ok.

Green from GWS please

Do you think Green is gettable? He'd be perfect. I'd be all for that. He's out of contract next year which I think best fits our timeline for chasing a big name.

The big bodied mid that I think might be attainable is Josh Dunkley. He's out of contract this year and there has been some friction with the Dogs there so I think that presents an opportunity. Mind you it's because of a Damir/Cloke type scenario.

I can’t imagine Treloar’s best mate would request a trade to Collingwood but you never know I guess

Tigers want Green.

Just spit balling here... I wonder if flanks is the area where we should target? I think on face value on-ball and key positions are the key list needs so i'm not so sure. I think targeting a flanker like Dale might be okay if it frees up someone like Maynard for on-ball. But you'd want to know if Maynards a legitimate option on-ball. I think we need to explore some of those options this season to inform list decisions.

Don’t know - prob not - but we really need to have a go
He’s the prefect compliment to the crop of speedy, silky mids we’re now developing

Not sure how we would get him and maintain our ability to also grab KP players for the both ends of the ground as well

If we can find some cheap top old older players sure. I’m talking about throwing money at older players who will be 30 by time we challenging. I don’t think we should. Discussion was on a player like mcstay, who would likely take a bit to lure. He’s 27 soon. I’d only be throwing money at players who can give us longevity. Sure some players do well after 30, but most do slow down and miss a lot of footy. I want players hitting their peak when we challenge, not ending their peak which is usually between 26/7-30.
Having players around 30 when challenging isn’t a bad thing.

It depends on priorities I guess. Perhaps we go the el-cheapo option in defense (aka the Dunn/Roughead route) go for key position early in the draft, and splash out on an inside mid. Or go inside mid in the draft and target someone like McKay through trade as an RFA next year.

McStay looked pretty handy last night. Another mobile forward with sticky mits and a long left foot couldn't hurt?

It was only the one game. McStay may have one or two of those year. I do like how mobile he is in comparison to Cameron/Cox though.
