I'd take Gunston and ditch Cameron. Play Krueger deep, he attacks the ball in the air strongly and can take Camerons role effectively enough. Mihocek more of a link role as he currently plays, with Gunston deeper. That's a huge net win for our forward line.

That said you'd only go there if he's a salary dump with the associated bargain price tag (salary and picks). You'd think that's unlikely though, so it's just nice to imagine.

And Kreuger helps out Grundy in the ruck?

So I've done some calculations --

We have enough atm to cover a bid at pick 1, we wouldn't have much left over though. If you remove the 27, and not gain anything this year we have enough to match at pick 3/4.
But if you add in richmond's picks and remove the 27, we have over 3,000 points, which is a bid at pick 1 with 600 points left over. A bid at pick 3? close to 1,000 points left over.

We would have to be pretty organised but I would be trying to hold 27 until draft night and seeing where the Daicos bid comes in.

If the Darcy bid comes in first all our picks will come in due to Dogs picks going out. We may then have enough points with our later picks that 27 becomes expendable. We won't know this until draft night though. There was a rumour going around this afternoon that Essendon are keen on our 27 (they must like someone in the top 30 and want an extra pick). On draft night we trade them 27 and our recently acquired future 3rd for their future first. That would be gold!

I was obviously having a bit of a laugh with this post but St Kilda are the key here.

If something like the quoted did happen, St Kilda will take a live pick with Pick 9.

They then need points to take Owens and Windhager who I've got on my spreadsheet at 27 and 31 respectively.

Trade 2-3 picks to the Saints for a future second and Bob's your uncle.

Like us with Dib I don’t think they’re overly concerned with points towards these guys. They’ve currently got 62, 66 and 67 which could go as low as the 40’s if we do this deal and things fell apart. Baseline though each of those picks probably comes in at least 8 spots by the time they receive a bid so they should be able to match 1 and can just go into deficit on a 2nd rounder for the other.

Our points are our problem.... they have the same issues.. TradeDraft is 100% is saying that the points at play is the issue.
No, we already have the required points needed. Our points aren’t an issue anymore unless we allow the dogs to make it an issue. As I said, their points aren’t our problem, we don’t compromise our position just to improve theirs.

"The Dogs are expected to do a deal for Patrick Lipinski to get him to Collingwood but are placing an extremely high value on him.

The Pies have offered a package of picks which the Dogs have so far knocked back, keen for a single high pick as high as 36.

The Dogs must take enough points to the national draft to match a bid for father-son Sam Darcy but clubs can only take in as many picks on draft night as they have list spots to the open.

So the Dogs will be keen to take a number of high and medium-ranked picks rather than a cluster of later picks given they will only want to hold open a handful of list spots."
Sounds like we're getting closer together in terms of points. When they agree on that, I'm sure that they'll be able to work out a deal that involves multiple picks and the same net result of them adding one pick.

36? They’re taking the piss now, just go to the PSD Wrighty.
If that's what they're insisting on, it's definitely time to include Lippinski and his agent in a potential PSD discussion. 36 is ridiculous.
As for the Richmond swap: better to wait for the end of trading before getting too wound up. Wrighty has been at this game for a long time.

Don’t our live picks drop down further once lower picks are spent on matching…(the early 40’s picks)

True. Will also be affected by Bulldogs picks that get extinguished, any other F/S and academy bid matching, teams that pass, etc, etc. Pick 48 might very well end up in the 30’s!

Go have a look at the previous pick 36s in the draft. How far back do you have to go to find a better player than Lipinski. I stopped after 6 or 7 years back and gave up.

Hawks desperate for Callaghan. Offering up players to Giants to swap first rounders
Which would be bad for us as Hawks would bid on Daicos at 2

GWS won’t move it. Like I told you earlier in the week McCartney said they were taking it to the draft.
