Opposition fans are already treating Perryman like Schultz without having played a game in black and white yet.

I hope next year they show everyone exactly why we got them.
Opposition fans , Kane Cornes included , are just pissed that we got Perryman . Cornes's beloved Port had put a heap of work into getting him and thought he was over the line. And any talk about how much he is getting paid is just bull shit- the figure goes up 50k /day and in reality we would have offered him around his market price, which would have been set by Port.

There have been rumours around JUH not fitting in personality wise and could be pushed out if an A-grade midfielder was available as Liba 32yo, Treloar 31yo, Macrae = gone, Bont 28yo, Sniff = gone.
Spoke to a well connected dogs fan recently who said they'd definitely consider offloading JUH, who apparently has application/consistency issues

If two firsts plus a second is clarrrys value, you would think the second first and the second round pick compensation will fluctuate depending on contractual obligation split. If cats were taking on majority of clarrrys contract, you would think it would be a first and potential early second. But Melbourne may insist on paying a greater portion of his contract in order to get more draft capital in return and improve their list faster. They have the cap space and can afford to carry a portion of his salary for the duration of his contract.

SEN were saying Melbourne might be prepared to pay some of his salary. Only ****ing Geelong could get him and at a discount price
If it's true that he is reportedly earning $1.3m pa through to 2030, there is no way Melbourne will be able to offload Oliver without making a hefty financial contribution.

Don't be surprised if Geelong point to the Grundy deal - pick 27 and they pay part of his wage. Going to be a disaster for Melbourne.

What does this mean? Why does it matter?

Unless Pies can get JUH for next season then no point discussing it now since Pies don't have the capital to trade.

Unless Pies are willing to let JDG go for JUH... in which I'm very intrigued.

I don't think Melbourne will take unders, their list management will take issue with the clubs senior management philosophy of sacrificing draft capital just for the sake of salary cap space and culture cleanse. It is possible clarry is a victim of poor management and culture, and is really more a symptom than the cause. Melbourne lack talent, and they would be foolish to pass up on significant draft capital. They have no players who deserve large contracts in the future, and a fair amount of their senior players are on their last major deals that will expire in the next few years. Just carry clarrrys salary and make geelong pay a significant draft capital to get him. He is their biggest trade asset they have and will have , need to make the most of it now.

We needed to get grundys contract of our books because we needed the space to pay other players. Melbourne don't need the space, geelong can point all they want, Melbourne should do whatever it takes to maximize their draft capital return.

JUH only signed until 2026

Didn't Sydney offer him a huge deal + they have two firsts

My gut feeling is that it may have come down to either Petracca or Oliver - one must go and the decision has been made

The dumbest thing Melbourne did was to be the ones to initiate the chatter. Think they could have executed this subtly by making Oliver's management be the ones to look around.
