The magpies are active now.
Yesterday I watched a dominant male magpie put the heat on an upstart.
It's a sign that in 2025 we'll beat down all the upstart clubs seeking to usurp our preeminence.

Try living on the banks of the upper werribee River. I reckon we get every bird species in Victoria and by the 100s. Cockys are the worst, every day on nightfall they come out in their hundreds and you can't hear the telly

The Werribee River is supposed to be a good place to catch bream.

I'm up in the freshwater section and I can catch bass, yellowbelly and the odd cod. I have no idea how they got in there but I've caught so many big bass in there

I am fair dinkum. We get them off the surface, sub surface and bait if you like using bait. Really hard fighting fish

The supposed natural range is east of Wilson's Prom, so the fish you catch must have been introduced.

Fisheries stocked 90,000 estuary perch 9 years ago and apparently, 40,000 were bass as they look identical when small. We were catching estuary perch at first and then bass started appearing. Absolute stroke of luck for us. The bass have basically taken over now. The cod and yellowbelly were stocked into Melton reservoir and make their way down from when they release water for the Werribee River. Very lucky for us

Yeah but, debate ive had for years. Ive got a reasonable sized dam. Never introduced fish, about 3 years ago fish appeared, see them splashing, some die. How did they get there. Ive been presented with the wildest theories, still dont understand how
