better then reaching the final hurdle and constantly falling over time after time after time..

are you serious?

If your club has the same attitude as yourself, then its no wonder they have gone nowhere for 100 ****ing years.....

That comment is nothing short of pathetic. Ever heard you have to be in it to win it?

So kicking 6 goals 5 to 1 goal 2 in the last qtr would have been a fluke?
You would have preferred the pies to go on with it and have a big win, well they didn't, 1 point was the margin. I'm glad you are pleased with that as I said the pies played very well. Wish I could say the same about the dogs.

No, you're misreading what I said. I wasn't saying what the Bulldogs did in the last quarter was a fluke. I was saying that in heinsight, I'd prefer we'd win in the manner we did, than have been behind all game and just fallen over the line in the end. It still hasn't silenced the doubters, but it's given them less ammunition than a 'flukey' kind of 1 point win would have.

From a Collingwood supporters point of view I was waiting for the Doggies to come out hard and fully expecting the Pies to have to hang on in a torrid last quarter. I was not expecting it to come down to a single point.

THe side fully expected the same. They had put in a very tiring effort to not only establish good lead but maintain it as the Doggies cam time and again in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
With our boys tired legs and having put in a very physically demanding first 3 quarters your game plan was going to see some kind of "comeback".

No different than the big last quarter v Geelong.

It could have easily gone either way, both the Pies Coach and players acknowledged the fact, but what we got from it was the 4 points and the belief that we are good enough to match it with No.3.

You can't say you would not have happily had the win in any circumstance.

Adelaide are the real smoky...we should all be wary of them sneaky bastards.:D

Go Pies and good luck Dogs.

Ok, I will now wait for the Doggies supporters to claim this win as theirs, or listen for their theories on how this loss really proves that their club is better then mine.

We lost the game by 1 point so I don't think we can take too much away from the game except that Collingwood got the 4 points and we didn't.

I as a Bulldogs supporter feel that the performance on last Friday night was disappointing and not a true reflection on us as a team, except that we fought the game out.

We can take heart that we didn't play our best, but still had the opportunity to beat a very good team.

Happy with that?

A win is a win FFS.

Its funny in the lead up to playing Essendon people are like beat them then we will take the pies seriously so we do..... still the pies are average.
Then we play the 3rd ranked side in the comp and arguably one of the most in-form... people again say beat them and you are genuine.... we do it then now we stumbled over the line etc etc

Ok so what you are saying is if Collingwood had of come from being down 41 points and won it would have been a fluke. By the way I am not a Collingwood doubter, I think they are a very talented side.

So to summarise, the Western Bulldogs were the real winners out of Friday night's game?

**** me, why do they let you know whos own computers.

Pies and Doggies are both good enough to give any other team grief in the finals. Dogs have always been my second team and they have not played in a GF for yonks, be nice to knock off the Saints and Cats and play off together. No real loser out of the game last week IMO. If we had lost by 15 points or less I would still believe my team is good enough to challenge any other. Cheers

i reckon there was actually plenty to take from that game for the dogs in actual fact. it proved yet again that against the best sides in the competition the dogs are simply not up to it when the heat is on early in a game. They stood geelong a 6 goal or so lead before storming home, the saints a 9 goal or so lead from memory before losing by about 5 and then the pies a 7 goal lead before rattling home. the only time they threaten the best sides around is when those sides are tiring. it does not bode well for the finals for them

Yes, I was yes stirring the pot a little. I'm not saying for a second that the Bulldogs don't have a great side, I am just a little annoyed that there are a number of your supporters who are still bagging my side despite the fact that we won on Friday.

Funny thing is, neither side played their best. That’s what tends to happen when two evenly matched sides meet. The FB beats the FF, the midfielders get tagged/break tags, one teams strength is countered by the others and both teams weaknesses are exposed.

All we can take from the last 2 weeks is Geelong and St. Kilda are evenly matched and Collingwood and Dogs are evenly matched. Not sure either Collingwood or Dogs are up with Geelong or St. Kilda and not sure yet where Adelaide rank. Gut feel is around where Collingwood and Dogs are. Collingwood have Dogs and Adelaide to come. Not sure about the other draws. It’s going to be tight.
