Well she’s not exactly going to come out and say it’s a bad list. That said there are talented players on our list in my opinion.

I’m probably being a little harsh but that really stood out to me.

Agree, overall she handled it pretty well for someone who has been in that role for 5 min.

Sonja expressing confidence in the list was to say 'the list doesn't explain how bad the performances have been under Noble and he can't use that as the excuse.'

Is it a great list? No but it's far better than it's mostly played this year. The Collingwood game showed it's better than has been claimed and we had 3 of our best players out.

It may not be great but it was also about Sonja giving the players and organisation some confidence for the rest of the year. Turn over a new leaf. I'm sure she's aware that there're some spuds that need to go.

Cannot take those Champion data ratings seriously when Jack Ziebell is rated above average and Ben mcKay is rated below average.

Add Curtis, Phillips, Ford, Comben, Powell and CCJ to that list and that's some real talent. Get the good roll players around them, Xerri, Taylor, Scott, Young and, Perez and that's our 18. We then have Corr, Jed, Cunners, Goldy, and LMac as the experience and Goater, Archer, Bergman and Spicer as the young kids. Add 2 or 3 more from this years draft and the future looks good.

I would say we are not a dissimilar position to the Giants after year 2. We have an abundance of young talent, seriously top end talent.

Phillips - Pick 3
TT - Pick 8
Powell - Pick 12
Simpkin - Pick 12
McKay - Pick 20
Comben - Pick 30
Steevo - Pick 6
CCJ - Pick 20
Future pick 1
Future pick 12 (priority pick)

All of these players have showed glimpses of seriously elite talent and it's the sort of list that any coach would salivate at the prospect of coaching. I havent even mentioned our rough diamonds like Bull and Larks who like as though they be very damaging forwards.

My hunch is once the dust settles we are going to be a pretty tasty proposition to any coach with half a brain.

We have a better list than people say. There are a couple of key holes but that's about it. Considering we officially started rebuilding less than two seasons ago.

A good run with injuries, one or two more KPFs, one KPD and suddenly things will look very different. The list will look shit hot. After that we can just trade or draft for needs as we move up the ladder.

I maintain that we will leapfrog other 'rebuilding' sides in quick succession within the next couple years. We've hit absolute rock bottom, and have some young talent that could become elite and be AA players. LDU already there.

Ferbs, I think the inference here is that Sonja probably added a touch too much mayo in that statement. We've got some good senior players and some developing youngsters with great talent and potential, but saying we have a great list is probably a bridge too far at this stage and I'm not surprised the media knobs have jumped on it. Will we have a great list? Hell yes!!

Really? In 2 years time this list will have elites in McKay, LDU, JHF, Powell, and Philips at a minimum. It will also have very good players in Simpkin, Zurhaar, Larkey, P Curtis, Taylor, TT, LMac at a bare minimum (not including other up and comers who haven't had the opportunity to show anything yet).

Obviously, it's not a "compete for a premiership now" list but it is an incredibly talented list which will add pick 1 and maybe some PP this coming draft.

Obviously, it's not a "compete for a premiership now" list but it is an incredibly talented list which will add pick 1 and maybe some PP this coming draft.
