It would be handy if LDU could let the club know either way. His indecision makes it harder for us to make a choice between taking a mid fielder or a key position player.
So you think LDU should quietly let the footy department know what he's going to do so that they can make list decisions but they all agree to keep that secret from the public? And if he did that, how would we know that he did that so that we can stop arguing hypotheticals that may have already happened?

If he is secretly planning to go, then he would be better off not telling North and allowing the worst selection decision so that next season, North are less competitive, this vindicating his move.

My opinion is that he hasn't made his mind up yet, hence not signing. Definitely don't think it's a case of not signing with no intention of re-signing either as happens with alot of players in their last year.

If we improve next season and give him reason to sign then I've got no doubt he will.

He wants to see improvement first

He is a big part of the problem, if he works harder on hitting some targets inside 50 rather than kicking it to the opposition then he would see improvement.

Maybe some of the forwards could get any sort of separation from their opponents and stop leading to the same spot, that’d be great.

The forward play was diabolical.
When they weren't all bone idle, they were all launching for the same ball.

Mids on a hiding to nothing sending the pill in there.

Yeah, our forward play isn't great at times but generally speaking when we move the ball through the middle with purpose there is a target to kick to and when we have connected that kick we are usually in the top quartile of turning that into a scoring opportunity.

Our problem is the connection between the mids to run and carry the ball and then being able to execute what is often a kick under little to no pressure to a target on the lead. You are just drinking the kool aid if you are trying to tell me you are unware of seeing LDU time after time open in space, going forwards and there are multiple targets to kick to and hit hits an opposition player.

It is those kinds of turnovers that kills our confidence and cause momentum shifts against us.

Look, unless he can address his own deficiencies, then I am fine to let him go for the right price because we are never going to get anywhere if our core mids can't hit targets inside 50. There is just no way 13 goal assists from 122 inside 50s is remotely good enough and we have another potato in Jy shanking it forward almost as bad. You can't butcher the ball going forward this badly and expect to be anything better than a bottom four side.

If he can't make the kick he should have the neurons to pass the ball to someone else who can. He has Sheezel running around who can thread a needle and we do not remotely look for him like Collingwood does Daicos.

And it's not an unreasonable request. He's getting massive dollars and long deals being thrown at him by good teams. He isn't going to say "Yeah nah, I've been stuck in Shitsville where I do what I can but every week I drag my sorry arse off the ground listening to the other team's song for my entire career and y'know, that's totally cool, I get every September off so I'll keep doing that. No thanks."

Yes, he has to row his side of the boat and his game isn't perfect. But he's an elite player who has the world at his feet. North, as his current employer has to give him a reason to stay. We hit the bye next year at 1-12 then he's hitting the bricks. And I wouldn't blame him.

How many of those I50’s are heaves from the middle like all centre square mids do?

A fair amount Id say.

Cripps just won a Brownlow with 45 votes and goes at 1 GA per 10 I50’s.

He’s not Darren Jarman by foot, but you’re crazy if you think letting him go is going to help our cause.

He’d have given eight years at the worst side this side of WWII.

Wouldn’t blame him whatsoever.

How bout remove the stand rule? They can start with that and work their way backwards.
I honestly can't understand why they can't just admit the stand rule was a massive **** up and absolutely no one likes it.

Most of their problems start with that campaigner of a rule.
