Another nice batch Munners - thanks for sharing! Shame someone bought the WCE one, and the Modra jumper is a bit overpriced too. The Fitzy jumper would be so cool to add to a collection, a very eccentric jumper. Demons retail maybe too much, Port jumper about right, bargains on the Saints and Pies, however. Would also be interesting to see what the Tigers jumper ended up going for - I'd say maybe $350-$450

Ie, someone is reproducing jumpers and ripping people off?
Why do people just post screenshots and act vague? There's a whole thread dedicated to outing players as homosexuals, calling them rapists, and implicating them in drug deals. Yet people are too timid to say some bloke is clearly reproducing strips? FFS. Look at that Eagles tag.

It's hard to believe, but there's every chance that it's real. Looks identical to this image of Ablett playing the Crows in '92
While the sponsor on the front changed (removal of box) by Round 17, the number font remained consistent. This is from the '92 GF
I'm not sure how often jumpers were changed in this era, but it could have appeared on field any time from Round 1 1990 right through to Round 16 1992, possibly multiple times (remembering also that Ablett missed the first half of '91)
No collar in the picture of Ablett, whereas the eBay one has a collar. I know a few teams had the collars on the players jumpers but not many. Pretty sure almost all retails of that era have the collar though, so could be a way to differentiate between retail and genuine

Dudes. Not genuine. The 5 is navy. Numerals were black in that era.
Mero's site is incorrect on this matter, displaying navy numerals throughout. We crresponded about it. Apparently a club historian said that numbers had always been navy. This is incorrect. They changed a few times during the 90s, it is difficult to find conclusive proof as to when exactly the changes occurred, because the colours look so similar. 89-90-91-92 they were black. 94 was navy. 98 black again. Since about 2000, navy. I'd like to know more but I have not yet been bothered looking into it in detail.

I'd say that the number 5 looks significantly smaller in proportion to the rest of the jumper than the pictures of Ablett as well. Also note the position of the top hoop compared to the armhole. Pretty clear to me that it's not 'identical' to the pictures of Ablett and seriously doubt it's a player version. At best, a retail from the era with a cheapish #5 stitched on.

I had a quick look on eBay to see the description, but it looks like it just ticked over 90 days. I did find these similar jumpers, however, which have been marked as a reproduction
While I was scrolling around completed auctions, I found this one which sold recently too. Quite a bargain for a rare jumper, the only time I've heard of one out and about was the radio presenter (who's name I've forgotten) who casually wore a long sleeve PI while broadcasting
The Tigers centenary you found is a replica aka fake. That seller is well known for reproducing a bunch of the rare AFL designs from many teams.
