Nope, I don't, maybe 1 or 2 trolls, but all it takes is for a handful of people to keep repeating what you have said and everyone believes it.
Same with apparently all Geelong fans being cocky and arrogant all year, it's not true and it's weak to keep repeating it.
Sorry Pharro, cannot agree with you there. Gary Jnr is an elite midfielder in a time where there are many elite midfielders. He racks up many possessions in a team that has set the record for possessions in a game. Granted he is a gun, however his old man was a stand out. He could play on the wing, he could play on the HFF and he could play at FF as we know. He won more games off his own boot than Gary Jnr ever will. Gary Jnr will go down as a great of the game if he keeps up his current form, but in 10, 15 or 20 years time he will not be spoken of in the same light as his Dad is now. Players like him come around once in a generation. Possessions are highly over-rated these days. Goals are never overrated, and Gary Snr kicked some of the more amzing goals we'll ever see.

Well done to Corey, Ablett was still a great player this year, I don't understand why people are bagging or making fun of him, great player and from interviews i've seen of him, he seems like a really decent person.

well done corey. he had a great year for the cats. i spose it helps when gaz spent 3 weeks on the sidelines. he did lead the comp in possesions. he deserves it. he polled in 22 out of 25 games

It is called Karma! He won a dodgy MVP, then has come second in the premiership, Norm Smith, Brownlow and Cats B&F.

What a waste of a post.
Wow, the trophy for worst Big Footy posters has well and truly been passed over now.
Can't believe all the hate directed at Ablett for completely no reason. The way he played in that Grand final amongst a team which just weren't prepared to give as much as him was fantastic and should be admired.
Think a couple of other players in the league would like to have had the year Ablett has just finished. Maybe not the disappointment of losing a grand final but the personal achievements have been outstanding.

No doubt. I hope Ablett and Thompson dish out a few choice words to the rest of the team over the pre-season and furthermore, I hope Ablett comes back in '09 better than anything we've seen from him beforehand.

I think there are a lot of people here who may have been turned off Ablett because of the attention he gets in the media. Just like the crapload of people who hate Buddy for no real reason.
I must admit when I heard that he came second in the B&F I immediately thought of the post-Brownlow posts on BigFooty and all those journalists demanding that the voting system be changed.
I personally have nothing against him but I admit to being very ****ty with all the howls from certain quarters that he should have won the Norm Smith instead of Hodge and the Brownlow instead of Cooney.
For curiosity's sake does anyone know how the voting system works for the Geelong B&F?

My thoughts exactly, it is not so much ablett that is disliked by all, but the cocky arrogant geelong posters who have talked him and the rest of the team up all year and cannot accept that players from other clubs have had outstanding years as well.
Congratulations to Joel Corey for an outstanding year. Just another example of a good player being disrespected by many, by acknowledging abletts defeat instead of the winners performance.
He's overrated.
