No active cases in sa again. Is an annoucement about increased crowds at AO on the cards? surely we can get a bigger crowd to the games now seeing there is a tight covid safe plan at the oval I don't see why it hasn't been annouced already
I would imagine Port would be pushing for increased numbers. Now that the franchise has finally won a game it is more likely the SMA will increase numbers.

AO Crowds are not really high on the governments agenda i wouldn't think, particularly now we are out of contention for the GF.

I disagree, if port get the expected one or two home finals I would almost put money on the crowd cap going back up to at least 20k.

And yet I can't drink standing up.

This one is ridiculous. Also the inconstisancy about not being able to sit at a "bar". Many dining establishments have long bars as tables and even though people are spaced out and the section of the 'bar' cleaned between sittings its still 'illegal" because some numb-nut bureaucrat decided that sitting at a bar was a high risk activity vs sitting at a table. Crazy stuff.

Was told off the other day for standing up and drinking a water, then another place said I could stand as long as I had nothing in my hand and another said I couldn't stand at all, then at AO where you have the largest crowds in the State you have people standing around at half-time/ quarter time sipping beers and chatting without a care in the world :drunk::drunk::drunk:.

FFS you have density rules and covid Marshalls monitoring things, let people stand up - the more detailed and incomprehensible you make these rules the more confused people are and less effective they are anyway.

Called it 😅. Tiser just dropped a story that the transition committee will be looking at easing a number of restrictions tomorrow, including bumping crowds up to 25k.

Paywall, but the gist of it is they will be looking at footy crowds, weddings, funerals and NSW/ ACT border among other things...

Coronavirus bans set to ease

Should be 20k for the Essendon game and if the Collingwood game is at AO. Then finals up to 25k.

Anger is growing about the “royal treatment” being given to footy executives after vision emerged of them sitting poolside while isolating.

AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan says footy executives, WAGs and media who flew from Victoria to Queensland are “doing this quarantine the same as everyone else”.

Images released by Nine showing them enjoying a huge swimming pool at their luxury Gold Coast resort tell a different story.

Brisbane radio host Scott Emerson said it was “perverse” there was “one rule for celebrities, sportsmen and multi-millionaires when it comes to Queensland’s hard border lockdown, and another for battlers and medical emergencies”.

But Channel 7 footy reporter Tom Browne said the Queensland Government was doing good business.

Palaszczuk — who sent out a tweet on Thursday evening reaffirming the AFL party was in quarantine — and McLachlan are riding out the storm.

Any Port Adelaide fans living in Queensland, please do your civic duty. Don't social distance. Don't wash your hands. Have gatherings of more than ten people. Hold a large protest against the tyrannical lockdown. Cough on random people at the supermarket. Lick public doorknobs. Your club needs your state to become a COVID-infested hellhole and we need it fast.

Victoria's results for today : 81 new cases and 59 deaths. 50 of those deaths are residents in aged care who died in July and August.

Good to see new cases in 2 digits. Though we need to see the test numbers to give that figure proper context.

Did yesterday's test figure of 82k have some catch up accounting to it?? The previous 10 days, 7 days were between 10k-14k, one day 18k, one day 19 and one day 25k. I'm suspicious you go from 13.9k tests to 82k tests overnight.

I'm pretty sure that figure included a back log of cases not previously reported

Marshall said after this morning’s transition committee and national cabinet meetings that the Government had decided to ease a series of restrictions commensurate with the reduced risk of COVID-19 spread.

From midnight tonight, the current cap of 100 guests at weddings and funerals will increase to 150 people, while Adelaide Oval’s current capacity limit of 10,000 people will increase to 15,000 from this weekend.

Marshall said the Government was looking to “progressively” increase the Adelaide Oval limit to a maximum of 25,000 people, depending on the success of the Adelaide versus Greater Western Sydney match on Tuesday.

You have to wonder how many more Aged Care deaths there are hidden in the system.

Good to see Victorian positives back under 100. Yesterday's spike was probably due to the 82,000 tests taken on Wednesday. They still manged 25,000 yesterday so 81 cases is encouraging news.

There isn't a cover up if that's what you are implying. Its probably a classification issue.

.....

There have been 59 new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. Today’s reported deaths include 50 people from Victorian aged care facilities who died in July and August.

It is important to note these deaths are not new, families were notified, and the deaths were reported as required.

The State and Federal governments and the aged care sector have worked together to reconcile the data relating to deaths. Aged care providers are also now reporting deaths to the state’s Public Health Unit in addition to the Commonwealth and normal reporting mechanisms.

I don't think it's a cover up at all, just a shame it takes it so long to get it right. These are people dying.
They told their families of the deaths. The fact the stats aren't correct for a few days or weeks is no big deal.

I dunno, I wouldn't wanna be lost in the system for weeks.

It shouldn't be that hard to report people who have died IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them have died without people knowing that day too.
