How many people have gone into intensive care because they got a vaccine?

This sounds like the kind of scaremongering misinformation that pushes people away from vaccines tbh.

Someone very close to me is currently (as of yesterday) in hospital on thinners due to clots on the lungs. They had AZ roughly 5 weeks ago. It's extremely concerning on a personal level.

My wife is a nurse and she has her own opinions as to why the AZ was only for over 60’s to begin withwhich has now changed) - being medically minded and having some underlying health issues she waited a bit (no longer works in hospitals).

So did the over 60’s have some medical immunity to blood clots? What’s the medical reason do you think or was it about less risk to the workforce from illness? If the couldn’t work and pay taxes.

We have all had our shots and are fine, but there is risk with everything in life.

Interesting times ahead given what’s happening in Sydney.

My understanding was that there was basically no differences between the age groups, it was simply about the relative risk of getting complications compared to the risk of complications of catching covid. Young people are less likely to have covid complications, and as such would have a relatively greater risk of complications to the AZ vaccine.

We also need to be very careful about anecdotes of people getting complications with such a large vaccination drive, where perhaps 80% of the population will get it. People get sick all the time, they develop blood clots all the time too. Our own Tom Rockliff even did. Ascribing any kind of health problem to the vaccine will be common, and this is exactly why they do scientific double blind studies with large numbers of people to work out statistically what is the risk of the vaccine compared to a placebo.

In that film, based on the 1954 novel of the same name, an attempt to engineer the measles virus into a cancer cure goes awry, infecting most of humanity and turning people into zombie-vampire hybrids. Vaccines do not factor into the plot.

This is one for the books. Sky News reporting on Hazzard's smoke screen around exactly what advice was provided to the NSW Government by the Chief Health Officer.

This, from SBS has more spin from Brad Hazzard as he tries to down play Berejiklian's, 'we will ease restrictions when we have 50% of the population vaccinated', comment. As was pointed out to Hazzard and Chant by the inquiry this is a direct contradiction of the Doherty Institute's 70-80% opening up figure as cited by the Prime Minister.
