Lol I want some of what you’ve been smoking. Even the great evil CNN broadcasts his daily pressers live. True, they also commonly call out his lies and errors in real-time. Little wonder he prefers Facebook, it’s certainly “unfiltered” by any accountability.

They do whilst advocating to block them from the public. They do not want the American public hearing directly from their president and that's since he got elected. The whole thing is batshit insane, imagine channel 9 journo's sooking that they want to have the network stop transmitting Scomo because they ideologically hate him instead of letting Australian's hear from him and see for ourselves. Then in the next breath whinge about Scomo for trying to limit the freedom of the press.

Anyway off topic, are any labs actually doing results this weekend or we still testing but skeleton crews to do the actual results? Just going by previous weekend drop offs are we going to get an uber bump Tuesday?

Baffled that no talk of nuking that ridiculous increase in super. Worst thing to do right now is continue the rise up to 12.5% and forcibly taking people's take home pay away to up into something unstable at the moment and also without choice.

Take it from someone who knows, you do not want to **** around with your super because some time down the track it may be all you have. You can draw up to $10,000 on your super if you need to but the experts are warning against that as it will have significant impact once the markets rise.

Super is a long term investment.

I don't mean take your super out I mean 2% more of people's take home is going into your super. So at a time when consumer confidence is up shit creek and spending will be down, the government pushes ahead with a law that will take more money out of people's pockets. I don't agree with forced super to the point of 12.5% it's ridiculous. Even if you agree with it, continuing to implement it now is madness, pause it for a decade.

It is, isn’t it?

And the reporting here is saying that your president is something of a nutjob denier, which probably doesn't help.

(My apologies if this aligns with your political leanings. No offence intended)
Not taken. I've voted for him and would vote again, but NOT for how he is behaving in this situation. Bolsonaro is far from perfect, but it is the best we got for now.

Odd enough, I think this will pay off FOR him in the long run, because: (a) his administration is acting AGAINST his speech; and (b) we will end up being forced to give up fighting the epidemic. Let's see.

Of course there, barely would of been any testing yesterday.

As the post states Victoria reported 2000 tests. NSW figures sound next to useless.

Post Easter new cases will be interesting.

Steve Marshall in SA apparently has no issue with the number of people at Henley Beach on Friday and Saturday. Lots of family visits going on around me today, little kids and grandparents mixing. What could possibly go wrong?

And which poorly written Facebook meme ending with 'let that sink in' did you get that information from?

This is the mixed messaging from him since it started. Basically one day he wants everyone to lock down and the next day it's hey we are doing great just make sure you be sensible. The best one is everyone who can work from home should meanwhile my Dept heads are just gonna email all the employees and tell them no one can work from home even though most could. This is just another one, all week DO NOT GO AWAY AT EASTER OR CONGREGATE. Images and video of people in mass in public areas, "That's fine have a great Easter SA!"...

All this talk of flattening the curve is creating a false sense of security. It is a long way from the end game, and isn't a reason to relax the restriction on movements. It won't be long though before the looney right starts up again with its police state nonsense.

Why do people have such an issue with making small sacrifices for long term gain?

Because people in this country have a sense of entitlement. That's why we will never be able to go about restrictions the same way Scandinavian or advanced Asian countries do.

Flattening the curve is great but we are not even halfway through this battle yet. 6-7 people at a larger scale gathering can turn into 2000 infections in a week.

When this over I hope that the WHO and the Australian Government launch an investigation as to how COVID-19 got on board these cruise ships. We know the Diamond Princess was infected when a single passenger who had been in Wuhan boarded in Hong Kong in late January. You cannot blame Carnival Corporation for that one but the Ruby Princess sailed from Sydney on March 8th and by then the Diamond Princess was all over the papers.

The link below although dated has some startling facts in it.

An interesting point is the NSW Chief Medical Officer Kerry Chant is quoted as saying, "There was no evidence that coronavirus was on the cruise ship or we would certainly have acted in a different way," If that is the case how is it that there were ambulances at Circular Quay waiting to take ill passengers off of a ship that had ordered COVID-19 swabs and was awaiting results ? Someone in NSW Health must have or should known that something was amiss. Did Dr Chant think that ambulance transfers were part of the cruise package?

As I have posted before Carnival Corporation knew they had another Diamond Princess on their hands and could not wait to disembark passengers. The article above confirms those suspicions. I think there will be a class action coming Carnival's way particularly if the Police Investigation makes them the fall guys for Rubygate.

I don't know much about the cruiseliner industry but I assume it is like airlines. There is no question that the Diamond Princess was the alarm bell to have the cruiseliners halting their industry but is it fair to say that governments of these cruiseliner origins and host governments are responsible too? The airlines didn't react promptly too and in some cases governments intervened to halt foreign airlines from arriving and eventually their own departing internationally but they were warned in advance. However some cruise ships were already at sea and some set sail from nations that had yet to have confirmed cases like airlines. The whole handling of cruiseliners around the world is balls up I reckon.

I thought I heard Daniel Andrews has said these won't be counted in Vic stats. Even so it could be a whack for their health system.

I posed the question yesterday.

According to the Commonwealth Department of Heath note which I posted a few posts back positive test results are attributed to the official figures for State in which the person normally resides hence the stuff up with yesterday's figures when they included 9 interstate residents that tested positive in NSW in the NSW stats. If there are 50 positives on the plane from Uruguay and all of these people normally reside in SA and are eventually repatriated to SA they will go down as 50 on the SA chart etc.

This footnote has since been added to the figures on the DOH site.

* Note that under National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System reporting requirements, cases are reported based on their Australian jurisdiction of residence rather than where they were detected. For example, a case reported previously in the NT in a NSW resident is counted in the national figures as a NSW case.

I reckon they have the work experience kid doing the official stats. No wait the kids are on holidays.

It must be awfully stressful for those tired, afflicted, displaced Aussies knowing they will bump up Victoria's Covid-19 stats tomorrow

While of course they will all have to be processed and isolated, it should be remembered that statistically (and hopefully realistically) half will have no symptoms or very mild ones, less than 10 should require some measure of hospitalization and fingers-crossed all of them will recover. Lets hope they are all added to the recovered column in a few weeks.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
But no bloody Covid-19 positives if you don't mind...

In other news, South Australia was voted the most desirable mainland state to live in for the first time...ever?

SA will reduce quarantine first as a test for the rest of the nation.

Allow visitors from interstate from July.

But no one from overseas until 2021 and only where they have the virus under control and have extensive testing. No one from China, USA or Asian countries with limited testing facilities such as Thailand and Indonesia. No one can holiday there either.

"I got corona virus twice and i survived because I'm not a pussy" - every man atm

You just listen to the old Pork Chop Express here now and take his advice on a dark and stormy night when the lightning's crashin' and the thunder's rollin' and the rain's coming down in sheets thick as lead. Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."

So who do we believe...

Professor Paul Kelly

or Gladys

I think they were both trying to make the same point except that one is a medico the other a politician. Perhaps Glad would have done better to have praised New South Welshers for the job they are doing in lowering the contagion rate and left it at that. What was served by being alarmist? Just a bit of praise and a keep up the good work is all that was needed.
