Anyone watch that video the Japanese did showing spreading of germs in a Buffett from people handling the tongs. If I ever go out for dinner, no buffets, no shared plates, no way.

if nobody is sick then nothing spreads

I think we should start polite bowing. Either that or fully sick hang ten hand signals.

i actually instinctively do this even to my ****ing uncle

No one is isolating any more and we still have no new cases.

Just let everyone out FFS.

About 14 days before we know if there's any new cases.

Have no problem with the AFL not being given an exemption. Victoria we can't trust. Crows have proven we can't trust them.

Best solution wait another month see if Victoria can kill off the community spread and then ask.

I chuckled at the reporter on Sunrise this morning. The young man was standing in a busy Sydney street telling every one about how busy the many pubs in the street will be and how happy publicans will be about the ten patrons they are allowed in the dining room. No bars open, no gaming rooms open just a dining room for ten people. I do not think many of Sydney's publicans will even bother opening for ten patrons.

I have to wonder if the politicians have any idea. There are restaurants in Sydney that will not open for ten customers so why would a publican open a pub for just ten people in the dining room? If you are going to open the pubs you have to give them a fair chance to trade otherwise keep them shut.

New South Wales, where they are still recording positive tests is opening pubs and restaurants, albeit slowly, while in South Australia where we have had one positive in three weeks - nothing not even a hint. Either there must be a huge divergence in the advice offered by the Chief Medical Officers in each State or Berejiklian simply chooses to ignore the advice she is getting.

Not true. It depends on the virulence. If it's one person with COVID 30 of 100 people could get infected by using the tongs, a common cold may be more like 10 in 100.

People are always sick, some things just spread far easier.

No, nearly all politicians are from a certain strata of society. Same with academics. Same with doctors etc. access to these roles and professions are overwhelmingly limited to your start in life.

This is why they need to get out and about, why cross consultation etc. is needed, but doesn't happen.

We supply to all the best restaurants across Australia. Virtually zero of them will be opening under these conditions.

In what world does Kane Cornes get an exemption for crossing borders for the essential service of being on a football tv show, but the actually footballers can't get one to play football that the poeple on television are supposed to be talking about?

Did Kornes have a 2 week isolation period when he crossed over? If that's put on footballers, the season can't happen.

Steve Marshall fighting to get us 3 extra days of eased restrictions.

The Premier addressed a Zoom meeting last night comprising more than 100 mayors and CEOs as well as departmental officers, with sources telling InDaily he vowed to “do everything I possibly can” to bring forward ‘Step Two’ of the three-phase plan for reopening the economy.

Step Two, which allows for seated dining in restaurants and cafes, is currently scheduled to kick in on Monday June 8 – the Queen’s Birthday public holiday – but several regional councils are pushing for the date to be brought forward three days to capitalise on the long weekend.

It’s understood Marshall told the meeting he was advocating for the change to June 5, but that he would need to convince Spurrier, who favoured the later date on public health grounds.

I don't think he is classified as working in an exempt service/industry

When he crossed over to Victoria in March he had to go into 14 day quarantine in Victoria, and then when he came back to SA he had to go into 14 days quarantine in SA - as a resident of SA he didn't need an exemption to re enter. My understanding is that Victoria have dropped the 14 day quarantine regulation for interstaters and that's why when he went back to Vic he didn't need to quarantine this time.

He's been doing weekly in studio appearances on footy classified. With a fortnight quarantine either way how is that possible?

No he hasn't. He hasn't done all 9 editions. Sam Edmunds filled in for him a couple of weeks. He did some from off location, wasn't at a couple early on in Victoria, if they removed the restrictions in Victoria then he has no problems.
