Absolutely ridiculous to allow crowds at the MCG and Docklands this weekend when they've already had one positive case attending last week's game.

In a weird way he is correct. You cant close Bobs cafe down and then jam 30,000 people onto a train

You need to shut down the train first. Too often Dan and co have refused to interfere with big business and got business and have instead sacrificed small business's as a form of warning to people knowing that these businesses arnt the ones funding his re-election campaigns

I am serious. We've had one 3-day lockdown, in Brisbane city only, this year, plus 14 days of mask-wearing statewide.

NSW would be ok, but all the states have nervous nellies for premiers with their fingers hovering over the panic button. Victoria is just the worst for some reason.

I know for a fact that a guy i know is in a hysterical panic right now and this is a person who has been vaccinated. I really worry for the mentality of some people.

Victoria is the worst because they've had the most cases since the initial wave last year. I think Mark McGowan is handling this the worst of anyone by far. We locked down over ZERO local cases on Anzac weekend, imagine what FIVE cases would cause?

I think it would go Duerte drug policy style of system

- Wear a mask
- If you see someone not wearing a mask, shoot him dead
- If you think he might not want to wear a mask, ask the police to physically assault him until he puts one on, otherwise shoot him. Doesnt matter

It's been the hardest part to take for me. People are just so submissive and narrow minded. They literally don't understand how serious it is that they can now be confined to their home by an unelected bureaucrat on a whim. Lockdown, in my opinion can never, ever be justified. But if they were, it would have to be the nuclear, no other alternative option. I cannot believe that 15 months into a fairly mild pandemic, we are still at this point, and the mindless majority just kind of...accept it. And I work with these people. They are intelligent, normal people, but can't see past their own lives. I have talked to people today that are hoping for a lockdown. I get it, working from home is easy, but how can you be so callous as to hope for something that causes so much grief and pain to others? I've been trying to wrap my head around this since it began, and my only conclusion is most people just really want to be told what to do. I feel like i've been living under a boot for a year that can stomp down at anytime, the fun has sort of disappeared from regular things, and like others I cannot see anyway that this will change in the foreseeable future, if ever.

To top it all off they'll accuse you of being selfish because you're concerned about the impact of lockdowns on others.

What are thoughts on Pfizer/Moderna/J&J being pushed as the better options? Seems convenient since they are making the most money out of it all. They are much more experimental than AZ.

Rubbish. You could keep the international borders closed for 10 years before it would affect me personally, but those who work in tertiary education and tourism industries would be rooted.

Cheapest being AZ? A lot did. Bad reports and media led to some being sceptical. Just putting it forward.

I find the 'empathy' displayed by people posting in this thread to very conveniently align with whatever issue they feel they can shoehorn their views in to at that particular point in time.

If you believe that everyone posting in this thread that agrees with you is showing genuine empathy for others, then you're very wrong my friend.

The speed at which a few posters launch in to personal attacks and insults should demonstrate that.
