Who's we?Do we still live in a democracy though?
If the unelected 'chief health officer' can pass decrees without going through parliament, how is that in any way democratic?
Seems more like dictatorship by CHO.
Whether or not this is a good thing, that's up for debate.
But the idea that we live in a free country / democracy is surely out the door now.
No parliament, no elections, just 'stay in your house citizen' and 'where are your papers?'.
Time for people who pretend to be educated to think about the consequences of all of this.
Rather than blindly following the leader.
You obviously haven't been following this sh*t from the beginning.
I'm a doctor at Italy's hardest-hit hospital. I had to decide who got a ventilator and who didn't
Guglielmo Gianotti has fought on the medical frontline of Italy's coronavirus crisis. He saw the wave of patients overwhelm his hospital, then he caught the virus himself. He has a warning for other countries like Australia.www.abc.net.au
Five seconds in google. What a lazy arse.
Interesting, in that article 'Dr Guglielmo Gianotti' claims to be the head of surgery at 'Cremona Hospital', but if you google his name, it comes back with little more than the ABC article, and a website of a proctologist who goes by the same name.I first heard about that directly out of Italy then a couple of weeks later it was confirmed on a Four Corners doccy
Inside Italy’s COVID War
On Monday night, Four Corners brings you a remarkable film that acts as a forceful reminder of how quickly coronavirus can take off and spread. Presented by the Health Report’s Dr Norman Swan, this film from PBS Frontline takes you into the heart of Italy’s fight against the virus. One hospital...www.abc.net.au
Won’t they limit the numbers in the shop?
How the government thinks allowing 18 year old lovebirds an exception to see eachother is ok under a Stage 4 lockdown is beyond me, Stage 3 different story
Unless u share custody of a child or are married and living separately that should be the case
My partner lives 30 mins away so how it ok that when we are supposed to be limiting spread I can go and see her but I can’t see my grandparents who live 5 mins away and are the people who need the social interaction more so than my girlfriend when u really think about it
This state is an utter shambles and yep I’d bet my house on it that we will be in the same spot in late december
'The virus is ahead of us': Experts call for transparency on Victorian COVID-19 data
Top epidemiologists want the Victorian government to be more transparent with its coronavirus data, arguing a stark lack of detail is hindering their ability to properly analyse the crisis.www.theage.com.au
Based on form, I'm reasonably confident that they will release as little information as possible.
And hope to be proven wrong on this.
Why would you lie? I just googled his name and there are plenty of mentions of him in regards to his role at the Hospital. Just because it isn't written in English doesn't mean it isn't real. But I'm guessing Italian language is probably fake too.Interesting, in that article 'Dr Guglielmo Gianotti' claims to be the head of surgery at 'Cremona Hospital', but if you google his name, it comes back with little more than the ABC article, and a website of a proctologist who goes by the same name.
Well, it was in the ABC, there's no way they would engage in sensationalism or report something untrue

The same ABC article (or rehashes of it) is 1st, 2nd, 4th and 7th on the results. Do you not find this remarkable?
Are you one of the Bolt-Jones-Skyidiots that has an unhealthy and paranoid fixation on the ABC from reading/watching/listening to too much of the Murdoch/News Corp media, and having a crush on the IPA?The same ABC article (or rehashes of it) is 1st, 2nd, 4th and 7th on the results. I heard there was a Stallion called Italy racing in the Melbourne cup next year.Does Italy really exist?
Google weights news highly. Here's the results I got:

Twaddle! UK, France, Spain, USA all have new restrictions. No they are not. Even Italy and China are free as birds compared to Melbourne now.
Here in Kuala Lumpur there is a face mask requirement, and shops check your temperature when you walk in.
That's about it.
If Melburnians realised how free the rest of the world is, they might be tempted to burn down Vic parliament.
You guys are being taken for a ride.
Night time curfews? 5km detention zones?Twaddle! UK, France, Spain, USA all have new restrictions.
It's not that hard to believe though is it? Too many patients for ventilators so Doctors are forced to make choices when more keep coming in. Do you leave the 80y old on who will probably die anyway or put a 50 year old on it who is a better chance? Pretty simple and tragic stuff. If it is a true story then I want to read more about it, and if it is true, there should be a hospital somewhere where the doctors admitted to 'choosing who lives and dies'. Sounds like complete crap to me.
Blatherskite and codswallop, even!Twaddle!
Very true and the 5km radius thing will also effect numbers in stores. I usually shop at a Woolies that is 8km from my house, the closet one is only 4.5km however the furthest one is a new and very large store where it is very easy to stay the **** away from other people. The closest one is an older small store that gives you no chance of distancing from anyone once it gets even slightly busy. I know most of my neighbours do the same and we will now be crammed into the smaller one like sardines.
Ramped-up restrictions to slash number of workers allowed on building sites
Commercial construction sites will revert to 'pilot light' mode as three-quarters of their normal workforce are forced off site, while smaller home builders will only be permitted five workers.www.theage.com.au
Any construction workers on here?
Would you be prepared to use the COVIDSafe or similar contact tracing App at work and outside of work as a condition of being allowed to work onsite?

Seems legit enough to me...
Any BF posters live or know anyone living in Czech republic? Seems they're going looser than Sweden from the outside.
