1. Not listed as an open testing site
2. Not listed as a closed testing site
3. No media outlet reported it as a testing site
4. Bupa have no mention of it being a testing site
5. Positive cases were already in that home at the time you’re claiming, so you’re suggesting it was a testing site, at the site of an outbreak
6. Restrictions were in place on who could visit aged care at that time
7. Other posters said they never saw it when they drive past it
8. It would be a massive massive failure if it was a testing case, but nowhere has reported it, despite the facility being on a main road that many people would drive past

This is not true. Victoria only signed the MOU for BRI in late October, and has not yet secured any BRI projects.

I believe you'll find the current Western Victoria wind-farm projects, installing the wind-turbines, poles & blades, are a joint Vic-Chinese Govt initiative.

For anyone interested in the Genomics, the Doherty institute expert was giving evidence to the Victorian inquiry.

I put this in another thread....

Unfortunately the stream was really grainy but this was included in the evidence submission.

The dotted line in running vertically down the middle of the following chart is the end date (I believe they said May 8th) where all but one of the strains in Victoria since February stopped circulating. The bottom half of the graph is cut off here as you couldn't see the full document clearly in the stream with the x-axis of dates.

Transmission network 1 is the only one that didn't end on May 8th, but they've seen no samples from that cluster since early June.

The evidence presented was that Transmission network 2, Transmission network 3 and 45_A are where at least 99% of the samples they've sequenced source from, since May 8th up until the 29th of July 2020. The orange dots are from samples where the infection source was overseas, which you can see is the first known sample in all 3 networks/clusters. The genomics expert (Professor Ben Howden) didn't confirm the source of these cases, that should be done by the epidemiologist who provides evidence tomorrow. But it doesn't take an expert to infer that all 3 clusters started from Hotel Quarantined returned travelers.

Some other notes

1. there could be more clusters, but his opinion is that most will link back to these 3 clusters/transmission networks.

2. They've got genomic data from ~46% of samples up until July 29th, obviously there is a backlog due to the number of cases and tests they've got.

3. Australian genomic data is probably the most extensive in the world.

4. I'm hoping a lot of this will appear on NextStrain soon, now that the evidence has been submitted and there is no barrier due to the inquiry, that may reveal if there is a link to New Zealand's outbreak.

I don’t know what their % of deaths in aged care is either.

UK have two sources for figures, official health ones and the ones provided by the Office of National Statistics which are considered more reliable.

Official 318,000 cases in UK, ONS 2.8M in England alone so pretty much figure 10x = 3.18M for UK
Official 41366 deaths in UK, ONS 56800 in England and Wales

UK of course includes Northern Ireland and Scotland as well as England and Wales.
