Went out and did my shopping at the Glenorchy Coles today, the local Coles and Woolworths are both shit, so often make the trip out for a decent shop. No toilet paper so that is universal, but there were a few packets of paper towel for the really desperate, and everything else well stocked and even managed to pick up some liquid soap. Find yourself a supermarket in a low socio-economic area for your non toilet paper needs.

On the news here last night they showed some Asian bloke that was trying to sell 20 rolls of toilet paper for $2000, $100 per roll, ridiculous.

Chinese people have been bulk buying baby formula for years to sell for a profit, wouldn't surprise me if they are doing the same thing with toilet paper.

I went to get some milk last night and did a bit of a wander around and when I went down the toilet paper aisle it was predictably empty but all the other people in the aisle had their phones out taking pictures of the empty shelves for social media. It is now an attraction.

Mrs went down to chemist warehouse this morning...no hand sanitizer available but plenty of soap, liquid soap too. Seriously people?

There's a difference between hand sanitiser which does not need water and a sink and liquid soap which does.

Are people stocking up in case they get diagnosed with Cornovirus and have to stay at home for 14 days? Surely they don;t need that much toilet paper for a two week period.

None of them heard of home delivery? Sure you'd have to shout through your closed front door at the delivery guy to leave it on the doorstep but WTH.

Dooms dayers on here say home delivery won't be available as all truck drivers over the country will have it at the same time so no food anywhere etc

If you're that worried about the virus, wouldn't you be arranging delivery? They could drop it at the door for you.

Why go into a dirty old supermarket filled with germy people?

Plus you often get some one elses bag of groceries for free (and refund for what they didn't give you that you ordered)

I don't know if it's a coincidence, but all the free delivery promos on Uber Eats right now for me are Chinese restaurants.

I popped down to my local IGA today as thwy have a decent hardware section, mrs said grab some loo roll if its there.

Had about a dozen six packs of the stuff...all at normal local country prices of about $6 a pack so grabbed two to join in the pandemic
Being the only person not participating in a mass hysteria would be lonely.

English Government are predicting a peak of 1 in 5 people being infected.
That could be truck drivers farmers and store-men and shop assistants

This can still get cray cray even if people dont get it but have to self isolate

Meanwhile 61 staff at Sydney’s Ryde Hospital were placed in self-isolation and 56 patients have been identified as close or casual contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case.
At Liverpool Hospital, in the same city, 23 staff and five patients have been identified as potential close contacts of a confirmed case.
