English Government are predicting a peak of 1 in 5 people being infected.
That could be truck drivers farmers and store-men and shop assistants

This can still get cray cray even if people dont get it but have to self isolate

Meanwhile 61 staff at Sydney’s Ryde Hospital were placed in self-isolation and 56 patients have been identified as close or casual contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case.
At Liverpool Hospital, in the same city, 23 staff and five patients have been identified as potential close contacts of a confirmed case.

The Poms are in more trouble than us, they have a bigger population in a much smaller country, they rely more on public transport like the tube in London which most people living there use rather than driving cars. Heathrow is one of the world's biggest travel hubs too and I don't think they have even bothered to put any travel bans in place as there is really no point with so many people from so many countries travelling through there.

That will all flow onto us in time though as there are so many people flying between here and the UK and we will never put a travel ban on the UK as we are still part of the Commonwealth and don't want to be seen as traitors to Her Majesty.

China have contained this virus within China extremely well but that doesn't absolve them from blame for allowing the virus to start there in the first place and it has now spread to other countries where they don't have the resources that China has to contain the virus as well as they did.

There is talk that the Tokyo Olympics could be called off due to this virus, I'm wondering if this is China's way of getting revenge on Japan for the atrocities they inflicted on China during the WW2 era and not wanting the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony to outdo the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony which was spectacular but you just know the Japanese will take it to another level just to beat Beijing.

There's no love lost between China and Japan, they are traditional rivals, up there with Carlton v Richmond and St Kilda v Collingwood.

Hottest of hot takes on an issue full of hot takes.

Id personally love a 14 day self isolation. Could get through some shows and films on Netflix.

Not sure if serious.

So China intentionally started a deadly viral infection in it's own back-yard, then allowed it to escape, just for pay-back against the Japanese?o_O

Yeah, I just found it funny there was media saying we need to go back to Chinese restaurants - 'you can't catch it because they are chinese' when it was the Chinese mainly staying away

I feel like the current toilet paper hysteria, (including those supermarket brawl videos going around) is the worst example of moronic behavior I've ever seen in Australia. Can anyone think of anything in the past 30 years that's comparable?

Revenge attacks on stingrays after one of their number killed Steve Irwin.

You've never been up the front in a post Christmas Myer stock-take sale then?

I was aware of the phrase that "civilised society is only three square meals away from anarchy".
I didnt realise it was worse than that and it was actually just 3 squares of toilet paper away

Wouldn't put it past them, there has been a lot of speculation the virus was started deliberately and it will probably peak worldwide at the same time the Tokyo Olympics are scheduled to be held in July/August.

Even if it wasn't started deliberately there wouldn't be a lot of tears shed by the Chinese if the Tokyo Olympics was cancelled or postponed.

Japan are one of the few countries better prepared to contain this virus than China though, they have already shut down schools, workplaces and public events to contain the virus, they will be going into overdrive to make sure the Olympics goes ahead.

You do recognise the damage this has done to both the Chinese economy & their international reputation then, I take it?

'experts' have only told us to use hand sanitizer and not soap etc.

People are dumb - how many didn't clean their hands previously?

Maybe they're afraid of water.

Or maybe they think we're going to lose access to running water/the water will be contaminated. Must be the belief of those frantically bulk buying bottled water as well.

Actually sounds like she's got a hoarding problem. Like she developed a complex from the time she spent doing it rough and that has developed into a hoarding compulsion. Only due to current circumstances could she be praised for such behaviour. In all likelihood, even with the current situation in mind, she'll have stuff sitting around that she'll never use, just being wasted.

Also says that people saying mean things about her online gets to her. Well, okay, then don't post pics of your epic grocery hauls on social media while the supermarket shelves are empty. Why are there so many people out there who love to put their personal lives out their in order to receive validation and adulation, but recoil at any sign of a negative response?
