Italy 743 deaths in 24 hrs :(
USA likely to pass Italy in total infections tomorrow or the following day - you'd think they will be in a lot of trouble over the next two weeks given that the increase in the spread and deaths is following the path of Italy.

how can you possibly think he's done a good job.

go back to when this thing kicked off. they should have closed the national border immediately. instead they let thousands of chinese students in because he wanted the education $.

since then he's been giving out mixed messages, saying somethings ok, only to then change the message a week later.

he's all over the shop.

that's not politics btw is an observation. completely bi-partisan.

do you disagree with the border comment?
I work at the border I agree 100% with this assessment especially about the Chinese student $
Myself and my colleagues have been exposed to passengers who are covid positive for months now - unbelievably none of us have tested positive as yet but mgt are expecting it to happen soon 😳
Govt way too slow to close borders - we will be at home soon on standby to be called in at any time to clear freighter flights or the odd flight here or there

they are pumping the money in now because they have no choice

but again, back when this thing kicked off, they didn't take the short term hit to the surplus that would have saved them billions now!!!! that's my whole point. because they tried to save the hit in terms of international tourism and education, it's now cost them billions more because they've got full lock downs implemented because the infection has now established its self on our shores.

the inaction on the cruise ship and testing has cost us more.

they're very critical mistakes.

surely you can see this?

btw the last 5 PM's aint going to help us. the discussion there is irrelevant. all that matters is if we have the right person leading the country right now for the circumstances we are in.
Liberals have never been good money managers. Labor saved us in the last GFC and have done so every single time we've had a financial crisis.

They care about big business over anyone else. You are 100% correct.

What sort of company pays you each week?
What does that matter?

Liberals are shithouse with budgets and financial management that is obvious and almost common knowledge by now. Defending them in this instance is silly.

Morrison's already shown his colors during the bushfire crisis. This was his chance to redeem himself and I admit he has done a reasonable job but we are in a critical time and he needs to act quicker/now.

I mean I've seen you support the current party on here before so it's no surprise you'd take issue with it. Ideally I want a party in charge of our country that puts their people first and leads. I don't care if its Labor or Liberal. Liberals are in charge now, historically horrible with money, and are going to lead us through the biggest financial crisis we've ever seen. Bloody worrying. Aside from that, SM is not a leader, that is obvious.

I reckon this thread shouldn’t introduce politics apart from saying how they acting now. One person says liberal aren’t good money managers and I’m sure liberal barrackers think that’s their biggest skill. One thinks you should look after big business because they employ many people and the other thinks you should look after the workers because there would be no big business. A liberal person isn’t going to change and neither Is a labor person. Best off without it.

I’d suggest that first paragraph isn’t obvious at all When they do polls on that sort of thing that is the main thing people have them over labor. And happy to say I vote liberal or don’t vote at all. Couldn’t bring myself to vote last election.

For a post saying "I reckon this thread shouldn't introduce politics"

- the rest of this is politics......tad hypocritical

Ok

The human race has great ability to bounce back. As long as this can be solved within a year we will bounce back. Someone has to own the huge houses, the middle class houses etc There is always new opportunities for business.

Of course there are but I think there will be a big ripple here. Lots of stuff won't bounce back. The economy was shaky before this just blew the foundation from under it. China will get a real leg up with the western countries having to wear serious debt to start with. I hope it pushes some structural change and our worlds go back to being smaller for the sake of
I had to go and get fuel. It's a hard task to hold the pump with a paper towel.

That's been debunked, no more an issue than anything else. That said I washed my hands in the windscreen washer water because the guy took my card to tap it and was coughing as he did it. I was staggering backwards like he had the plague.

I liked the world well Australia before this. Maybe I’m easily pleased. Maybe I’m selfish. My friends and family and of course myself have had a great life. A couple of tragedies but no depression no real recession no wars that have effected us compared to previous generations, plenty of wealth, no where near wealthy though. Obviously all before this. I suppose we were due.

I must have started that earlier. I like Australia too. The system was getting imbalanced though and the cost of living was pushing people out of affluence.

Maybe but I didn’t notice it apart from housing which I was lucky to buy 27 years ago. Things I buy seem about the same as 40 years ago if not cheaper. Obviously allowing for inflation. Maybe not grog. Well certain not grog.

Housing, bills and food all more expensive. If you are starting out you could never get that house that would set you up without family help.

God I love Jacinda Ardern. One of the best leaders in the world, wish I lived in NZ. She even answered questions live on FB tonight addressing concerns residents had as they came through on the live stream.

Morrison is just a force for confusion and panic. Can not remember a more incompetent PM in this country, and we've had some absolute shockers.
