Post Draft Camp: Cotchin or Morton

The Draft Camp is over and Carle Morton has impressed everyone with his 15.2 Beep Test (higher than Chris Judd) and his 3km time trial in the absence of the injured Trent Cotchin. It looks increasingly likely the Tigers will pick Morton up along with his WC brother Mitch.

personally, i would prefer Cotchin purely from what i've seen of him. this kid is pure class and silky smooth (sort of in the mould of pendlebury, deleids and gary ablett). Morton also played well in the TAC and national championships, but in patches and was less consistent.

i hope that greg miller doesn't trade away pick 2 and 18 to get chris judd. this would mean once again we weren't be picking the best available kids and instead forking out more than 1 million a year for a player still unsure of how he will recover from his groin injury.

the best scenario would be to do a 'Veale' deal with Carlton. They give us pick 3 and 20 for our pick 18 and a player (hughes, JON) n we will pass on him in the PSD. That means we will end up with pick 2, 3, 19, 20 in which we can then pick Cotchin, Morton, Selwood, Vzpremi or Bellchambers.....PERFECT!!!!!!!!

the best scenario would be to do a 'Veale' deal with Carlton. They give us pick 3 and 20 for our pick 18 and a player (hughes, JON) n we will pass on him in the PSD. That means we will end up with pick 2, 3, 19, 20 in which we can then pick Cotchin, Morton, Selwood, Vzpremi or Bellchambers.....PERFECT!!!!!!!!

I would be happy with either Cotchin or Morton. I just hope who ever we chose will work out.

I am not entirely happy with some of our early picks over the years. Meyer is on the verge of being delisted, JON has a question mark over his head and Frankilin is humiliating Tambling despite Tambling being OK.

We seem to have more success with our Rookies. Foley, Thursfield and King are turning out great.

Dont worry we wont get Judd unless he goes PSD which wont happen, we are just making it tougher for Carlton than they thought.

But picking Morton instead of Cotchin wouldnt suprise me.
