Cousins won the 5th most contested possesions on the ground today.

Ball didnt get in the top 5 for his game for contest posessions but was 4th on the ground for uncontested ball.
So..........look at the stats for the year and it'll tell you a different story.

That is his job.He does what the coach instructs him to do.

Dude seriously, 3500 posts - and you are letting Mr "7 posts - I`ll post under a different alias" troll you.

He/She/it is not worth the effort.

Ball is very underrated I think.

Runs 100m faster than Wells, great contested player, excellent courage, GREAT foot skills.

Watch him kick a footy and you can see he has a very good right footy and a reasonable left foot.

Ball>>>Mitchell.

Cousins is a gun. uncontested contested you name it. will be the brownlow medalist for 2005.
Ball like him a lot, very very good player, he would be a starting midfielder in an any side in the comp.
Hodge, well what can i say, he has shoved it up all your ar*ses and proved how good of a player he is. will be and is well on his way to being one of the premier midfielders in the league. :)

Luke Ball??? Pfft!!!

He MAY develop into a decent player, but, Cousins and about 100 other blokes are a mile ahead of him at the moment.
Name 100 players you'd want before Ball.

Bet you can't get 50% to agree ith you.

lets just settle it. hodge = gun, judd = gun, ball = gun.
3 different players, 3 stars, 3 potential skippers, 3 damaging players. each player is awesome and is suited for the respective clubs.

What's Hawthorn's win-loss ratio with Hodge in the side?

What's Hawthorn's win-loss ratio with Cousins, Kerr, Fletcher, Cox, Embley, Wirrpunda and Braun playing alongside him in the midfield. Oh wait, we don't have them.

Sadly footy sides comprise 22 players, and Hawthorn are unable to fill the side with adequate players.

exactly, why do they need to be compared and ranked?? its futile.

so you're rating his whole season on one poor game where he only got 29 possesisons. yep surely he should be banned from ever getting a brownlow with this discraceful effort

win loss ratio? wtf. that doesnt mean there crap if theyre team aint winnin all the time! thats stupid.
just read what i said - it says enough.
You said how they are suited to their team.

You don't understand why I asked that question.I didn't write it because of how good a player Hodge is,just how he is suited to the Hawthorn side.

so your saying hodge would be a hack in st kildas or west coasts side? ur sayin that judd and ball would be useless in carlton or collingwood or hawthorn?
i dont get wat ur trying to say. the best players have played the game and have had poor win loss ratios. im sure judd would be a gun at hawthorn just like hodge is.

ok my bad. yes they are all suited to their respective sides because of the role they play. but theyd still be equally as good for any other club and perhaps would play the same role.

No I'm saying that Hawthorn can play around Hodge therefore making him look good but the team doesn't get any success.

Which is why I wanted to strangle the guy who started this thread. You knock a player from someone else's team, they'll knock a player form your team. It's the Bigfooty mentality.

It's just a shame that in this instance it was Ball. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more deserving of respect.

The team doesnt get any success because the personal around him isnt quality, did you think the same about Cousins in 2001, because cousins in that year was your best player, the side did play around him but did they win matches. NO

Same scenario with Buckley also

It's not Hodge's fault,it's the gameplan the coach implements.
