Bont was on track for the norm smith midway through that 3rd quarter.
Then the most dominant player in the league actually stepped up another level and his team kicked 16 of the next 17 goals

both would be smokies for the brownlow too despite daicos getting all the attention
ESPN predictor has Cripps in front of Daicos and only behind Heeney. It’s always fairly close I’ve found in the past is ESPNs take on it.

So on that, Cripps barely a Smokey, more like in the fancied section to win, and so he should, has been great all year.

I don't disagree with that having watched him go about his business this year . It's really only him and Walsh getting most of the votes for us. Nick won't have that problem of players stealing votes off him

How lucky were you that it was in perth. Weve seen how you and "the most dominant player in the league" perform on the G in September

Both terrif players, and different.
Cripps is resilient, hard, cracks in.
Bont is a freak of nature, the hardest match up in footy due to his versatility, can do pretty much everything ... think about that for a little while. He can play most positions and roles well.

I'm more than happy to have as many teams contending this year, Blues certainly will and Dogs may so.

A more sobering observation is captains performing consistently in finals is the real metric, so apart from a very small number of skippers, most have not yet. To be continued ...

That was up to Rnd 11 (last week)

Be interesting to see the predictor after the completion of Rnd 12.

I think the consensus would be Cripps adding 3 and Daicos adding 2

Funny thing was Cripps wasn’t actually dominant until the last quarter. He’d only had 11 touches till then.

He’s had a brilliant season, if he keeps it going it will be his best season period, Brownlow or not.

I thought he was a huge shot at the Brownlow after about round 3.

Yeah but last quarters stay in the mind of umpires, Daicos was best on til 3/4 time as well until Bont took over.

I guess if that makes you feel better

Got over run in 2021, but he got his side into that GF on the back of an impressive individual finals series leading up to that game
I go look back at that grand final and honestly wonder how we competed for so long with so many vfl types in the team. Schache, Hannan, Cordy, corpse of Wood and Martin, and Roarke Smith (who was far from our worst).

How were we so good that year! Bont and Treloar kept us in that game.
