When politicians (local and internationally) made it political
This thread is still titled COVID-19 DISCUSSION THREAD. If you want to keep on arguing and slagging off at each other about the political side of it, then I suggest the Society, Religion & Politics Thread is a far more suitable place.

Who’s arguing or slagging off each other? Apart from you. whether you want to have a sook or not covid has been politicised from a fair way back and most of the discussion yesterday was how a previous pm could have performed a better job than the muppet in power now. With examples of how a strong leader could have performed better. So if you had that half you’d probably realise that but hey obviously not.

Tbf, the past few days hasn't had a lot of political slagging. More moved into a discussion of past politics

But I don't think you can have a full discussion of COVID-19 without discussing how it has become political. For better or worse.

But if it will help you sleep better tonight, I made an appointment to see my GP about getting AZ. If he is allowed back in Victoria as he is stuck in the NT cause he went on holiday retracted due to polictial discussion

When did this go from covid discussion to political discussion?

And nobody say it's interlinked, both sides of politics have stuffed up and everyone has the right and their own reasoning for their particular political beliefs so how about you all take the political bullshit shots at each other somewhere else.
Because Morrison has f up with the vaccine roll out !

How about you champ, stick to the don't play the man rule? I really don't see how I was "sooking", I simply pointed out that this thread is the covid thread and that there already is a political thread.
If you so desperately want to discuss both, perhaps start a new thread.

Thank you for a reasonable, logical response.

Whether you want to admit it or not it’s politically intertwined now. Thanks to all sides of politics. Simple as that. Your carrying on about something that doesn’t exist

no1 took pot shots & No1 indicated they espoused to liking a particular political party. You have come up with that all by yourself.

Again it was a discussion pointing out how a previous pm would have performed better than the muppet in charge. With examples.

You’ve run into this looking for something that’s not there. Again it will be politically intertwined for the rest of the pandemic however long that runs. If it wasn’t politicians would not be front page news atm.

Leaving aside whether it was a **** up of Morrison's or a decision by the manufacturers, and I don't know, a question on this has been playing on my mind. I'm no globalist, but in a situation like this shouldn't other countries be prioritised for vaccination? We haven't had a single person die this year. We have a relatively healthy population. Even without lockdowns our infection rate would be comparatively low due to our lower population.

Yes absolutely. We have had negligible relative risk because our suppression has been successful and on the back of it the low covid case numbers. Our various governments state and federal have done an amazing job better almost than anywhere in the world. Logistical issues have affected vaccine choices and progress of orders. Roll out has been stagnant mainly because of population lethargy not government. Make no mistake I highly suspect our success and low risk has influenced distribution of vaccine supply on worldwide basis forcing greater promotion of AZ locally . We are part of the world and should play that role in priority of access. My only concern is the continued promotion of AZ when it has inherent mortality risk. Personally I'll wait until september and get the alternative

I think if we had an opposite amount of Phizer and AZ we would be in a much better place

He had that chance last year.

Plus with the mixed messaging from federal & state politicians a lot of people will waite for Pfizer. Which slows the countries economic recovery and the longer it goes the more we put our citizens at risk. As this has been pointed out today vaccine administration is the countries way out of this. ALL sides of politics should have put their party politics to one side and worked together. They should have come out of a National Cabinet meeting the other day on the same page.

Our leader didn’t lead so over the last year we ended up with states going their own way fracturing our response and ridiculously turning state against state nit picking at each other.

We continually get told we’re all in this together but by the looks of things over the last year they are not.

It’s political because people like bedford support the ALP likes it’s a sports team and make it that way , because heaven forbid he hold dictator dan to account for his corrupt government

Scomo is a dud but Dan Andrews is arguably the worst political figure in this country

And also people can leave my mate jewelsbon alone

Nicest poster on here by a mile

Well said

Australian politics is full of indecisive dregs who play for public accolade and reelection

Scomo would rather make 0 decisions than be decisive

They are all about publicity and press conference and perception and people lap it up

Ohh our premier did 100 press conferences he kept us safe and worked hard lol

How much time and planning do they waste on getting these pics and shit done so we can see how hard they are working

I’ve been invited to one of these set up site things for the premier before, they arranged it a week before too , was pathetic

We have given away over 20 million doses to countries like PNG and others in the Pacific
