The alternative is to quarantine in the middle of no where. Not close to an airport, medical facilities and you still need to be able to staff these quarantine facilities with staff who will go back into the community.

As the recent leaks have shown it’s those working at these quarantine facilities which trigger the outbreak. So whether it’s hotel quarantine or a special purpose built facility the same issues will arise.

The other alternative is continue as is and have these regular lockdowns risking people’s lives and the economy.

And the alternatives have been bought up regularly over the last year. And has finally after huge amounts of pressure come to fruition

I’m over the piss poor excuse “it’s to hard”. The country can spend a billion dollars on a possible olympics in Brisbane but it cant supply adequate facilities to keep our citizens safe. They’ve been dragged kicking and screaming to dedicated quarantine facilities.

I like a lot of people are done with our piss poor shyte stain of a federal government.

It's amazing how much this pandemic has exposed just how fractured our country is.

Rupert couldn't have asked for a better circumstance for his decades of divide and conquer tactics to come to a head.

Yeah… but just maybe he got carried away with it and people are starting to see the bullshit. The more people are exposed to alternative news thru sources on social media, especially with the seemingly endless corruption, lack of transparency and outright lawlessness of this QMo government, the more they are able to recognise his bias and his ability to present untruths as fact.
Of course there will always be the imbeciles that think Peta Credlin is the bees knees when it comes to impartial investigative journalism but there is a glimmer of hope… I hope 🤞

The Howard years. Transformed the country from an easy going place to division and greed. His bad far outweighed his good.

Have to give him credit where it’s due though his gun law reform was his best reform policy. I’d hate to think what would have happened last year without that. And I’ve got no doubt he would have performed a damn sight better than the muppet we have today in charge.

I genuinely think any PM we have had in my lifetime would have been better than Morrison for a pandemic response. Admittedly, I only really followed politics when Gillard got in

It’s pretty deplorable for this country when it comes to the quality of politicians now. If What happened with Victoria last year when I was a kid Andrews would have been Lynched but instead because the cupboard is bare & he stays. It’s pretty sad imo

Exactly. Howard was a great politician even if you didn’t like him, cunning as a shit house rat.

I voted for Howard in one election purely on gun law reform. I lived in Deak st Gagebrook and could hear and see gunshots go off on a regular basis, you’d see the cops flying up the hill only to be there after the incident every time. Don’t believe me go ask The King he would know what that area was like.

And you have to give him credit as honest John, this is the bloke that was a shocking treasurer under Fraser but convinced the country he was the right person who had better control of finances. If your old enough you’d realise how hilarious that is & he did it for years.

What was the opposition like in those times? I only vaguely remember Mark Latham and now he seems like a RWNJ

Beazley. Not bad, just my personal circumstances where I lived with a child made me lean towards Howard. Latham was a nut case. Could see it a mile off. Beazley was a decent fella and would have got my vote had it not for Howard’s strong stance on gun reform.

When did this go from covid discussion to political discussion?

And nobody say it's interlinked, both sides of politics have stuffed up and everyone has the right and their own reasoning for their particular political beliefs so how about you all take the political bullshit shots at each other somewhere else.
