Disturbing figures out of WA about the amount of people who have gone O/S recently
About 500 have gone more than 3 times , 1300 2 times and some 5 or 6 times ! close the border
Hardly a surprise. FIFO workers have to head overseas because it’s their job. Hard to work on LNG plant in the PNG from your home office.

Entry to and exit from the country is a Fed responsibility as is quarantine. The choice and acquisition of vaccines is also a Fed responsibility. The Feds are also responsible for resi aged care.

We are stuck with AZ (despite the doubts about its efficacy) for oldies like me. The reasoning for the selection of AZ is opaque and I suspect will never be publicly released.

The German Govt CV medco honchos are now suggesting a combo of AZ and Pfizer may work better v the Delta and other strains as these develop.

Cheaper, can be made locally easier compared to Phizer, cheaper, doesn't require to be kept at like -70° until use like the Phizer making storing and transport easier and most importantly for our "great economic managers" of a federal government: it was cheaper

For a remote island country like Australia, quarantine is the first line of defence against infectious diseases. The fact that we have not gotten our act together on this after more than a year is an embarrassment.

Don't laugh, I actually used to believe they were the gold standard :(

You were sold a lemon mate. NSW got incredibly lucky up until now with geography and less transmissable versions of the virus.

And like the 2014 Swans, NSW gov drank the bathwater and believed their own hype

At least the Bloods got to play a home game in Victoria...

I was going to get some awesome Turkish food from the local on the weekend, guess that's off the table :(.

Are there additional cases from the Meriton party held a few days ago? How were they allowed to have a party/stay at the accommodation? Surely reception would've asked for reasons for stay. These types of incidents really piss me off.

Bloody barbers closed too. Far out.

Human error that's what happens

I'm not surprised the lockdown is extending. The language used by the premier earlier during the lockdown was 'we need vaccines to suppress this virus and I want this to be the final lockdown before enough people are vaccinated'. We aren't getting vaccines and majority aren't going to be vaccinated until Sept/Oct, so obviously she was foreshadowing lockdown could be extended for months.

I'm not surprised at all and expect to be in lockdown for an additional month atleast.

Another 50 cases in Sydney. 26 were out in the public while infectious. Seems the softly, softly approach to lockdown has been a massive failure leading to non-compliance and complacency. What a massive **** up. Time for those Sydney-siders that are doing the wrong thing to harden the **** up. Lock the **** down properly for a couple of weeks and do the right thing by everyone else.

To my Bloods family in Greater Sydney lockdown (and elsewhere)
hopefully the boys will bring a smile to your face with their passion, endeavour, excitement and enthusiasm.
The VFL will start in a few minutes - the game is live on the freebies account in a few minutes

Victoria's incompetence this time last year is starting to look not that bad compared to whats happening now.

The NSW government have a solution handed to them, they have a frame of reference to what happens if you are slow to act, and they are just refusing to do anything worthwile. Like, they flat out don't care.

This is infuriating.
