Peter Dutton isn't the Treasurer.So.... the treasurer has it.
And as he had a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.......
Round one to go ahead (for now). No crowds allowed.
How ridiculous to play round 1, then we may be on a hiatus for a few weeks after that!
Why wouldn't they wait a few weeks to see where the virus progress is at, then make a decision after that? Can see round 1 being flat as a tack.
and TV Channels love the Big Viewer Count with no one thereBecause if we play round 1 the afl will still get some TV and sponsorship money
Isn’t he?Peter Dutton isn't the Treasurer.

Dutton has it Yet Morrison is going to see his ‘beloved’ sharks, shouldn’t he self isolate until he gets his results?So.... the treasurer has it.

As long as they wait until Monday week to implement an Italy-style lockdown so I can catch the Spirit of Tas over and officially move into my new unit that's fine by me.They aren’t. There’s been a noticeable shift in reporting the past 48 hours I’m not certain of the trigger, but I’d suggest it was the WHO’s declaration. Since then awareness has heightened.
What we need to do is eradicate sensationalism from the discussion. One end of the spectrum is the “this isn’t as bad as the flu blah blah blah” the other is “everything will go into lockdown indefinitely” and the truth likely rests somewhere between those extremes. The reason for that is we just don’t have enough information.
For instance at the rate this is going I’m anticipating an Italy style lockdown at some stage within the next few weeks. Beyond that we just don’t know. Yes discussing something like a footy season is pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things, but it’s about mindset because hardline thinking on the back of little evidence leads to mass stupidity such as panic buying.
I also need to stress that I asked for clarity because for all I know the powers that be have already decided that 2020 is done if someone within clubland tests positive. I may see that as hysteria, but it might be factual.

Interesting to see how the men in white umpire without a crowd bias!
Would be the best time to play them awayWest Coast to bottom 4
People don’t put up with that cr@p, people didHow do you stamp it out?
They’ll just read bigfooty when resting on the benchThis notion of Collingwood playing without crowds, I'm really not sure how they'll go without the benefit of my considered wisdom from the sidelines. Poor bastards.
Equally as interesting will be if the players kick straighter for goal without crowd pressureInteresting to see how the men in white umpire without a crowd bias!
The basis for it is that this virus will spread and it's likely someone at an AFL club will contract it. The season will then become compromised and people will lose interest in it and only watch it out of desperation because they'll become bored witless at home.To clarify what is the basis for this type of hysteria? I expect it from a poster like Kappa, but this stuff seems to propagate more effectively than the actual virus.
I am glad you are not making the decisions because the economic effects of your suggestion would be diabolical. We already have a number of infected people here so it's not like we would be locking out a problem that doesn't already exist. You don't by any chance have any spare toilet rolls?
