You're a ******* great re. But its best that you never mention or photograph the sunblest again. Otherwise we will all start doubting your greatness.

You know what greatness is.. I tell you what greatness it.. recognizing that bread is in the background.. keep it simple.. like painting your walls white.. then you create magic with your decor and furniture and shit like that.. the more you over complicate your bread with an over abundance of vlakia style minerals and herbs kai malakies .. the more you limit yourself as far as your creativity goes.. youve basically painted all your walls these obscure colors.. what the f good is that for.. seafood meat platter followed by a bite of something that resembles that rock creature out of the neverending story.. no thanks. People are missing out on lifes very essence.

These Rock of Gibraltar style loafs are only ever good on their own.. the f I'd combine em with anything else. Bit of butter perhaps.

I gorge on any good bread offered in a restaurant. Close to an addiction. Never ever is a negative on my appetite.

As to the idea my loaf after being eaten fresh yesterday won’t make a fab toasted sandwich today. You need to get out more. Stick your nose through Bucks window. Won’t be no Sunblest there

Bread is the bucket the balls come in re..

A re Gimpy that poor lamb sacrificed its life to be placed on top of Sunblest..........that my friend is reminiscent of Bucks coaching performance in the Prelim last year. 😉

Lift your game Gimp............nothing better in Greece than to eat a Greek Salad with Xoriatico Bread soaking up the Extra Virgin Olive Oil delicious 😋

Precisely.. bread is supposed to be simple. I'm not going to say that I f it up by using sunblest white bread.. anything simple as far as bread goes is what I enjoy..

Didn’t think you would like that one. Still think. Arrive, isolate for 2 weeks, get on plane go home, isolate for 2 weeks.
Isolate fine. Stay in Melbourne for two winters - Ultimate protest time. Would remind me of when I lived in Singapore as a child and attended international school till midday, then was locked in with my mother for the afternoon doing totally unnecessary correspondence work while my expat friends' could be heard outside playing or would be flapping about in the pool at an expats club. Had dire consequences down the track when I skipped a grade on return to Australia then a year later repeated a year due to age and maturity.

We would be the only country without tourists in the air. Makes no sense particularly if all you want to do is leave and not return for a long time. This would be nannying at its most extreme. Surely the whole idea of quarantines is to enable international travel to occur.

Nothing simple about a massive machine that shits out square white sunblest turds.

Yep agreed, bread should be simple. Flour, starter, salt, water, and optionally some oil. The longer it can sit the better.

It shouldn't be mass produced, it should not contain bread improvers, and it should not contain any commercial yeasts.

These days I will only enjoy bread a couple of times a week, but good bread is one of life's simple pleasures. Just like awesome coffee!

Better soft than feeling like your teeth are filing themselves down on a granite-like crust.

TGG your experience with the Woodfrog baguette was hilarious as you described it. They do make them with a very thick crust!

Ok..

Revised BF Cooking ladder

Gimp
Jahanas
SS
VP
GC
Jmac70
Soups
Maggie5
SR

I’m dropping down the ladder now? Ok, you wanna talk curries? Hubby made this last night. Rice pilaf with saffron and other nice things, and a lamb curry with his ‘masala’ sauce. He grinds and toasts the spices, then adds chillies, tomatoes and yoghurt. Don’t look too closely as the yoghurt curdled a little - but I said nothing!

Gimp - can two cooks equal one and rise up (to my rightful place on) the ladder?

Yum. That's my kind of meal, but if you put that in a tin and serve it with sunblest, you'd also have Soups and Gimp in heaven.

Baguettes are always going to give your teeth more of a workout than a slice of bread. A slice of bread with a thick crust is generally quite bearable and can always be dipped into a soup or similar to soften it if required. A baguette is a totally different proposition.

Woodfrog's baguettes at $5 each are not cheap hence the eater feels obliged to get his money's worth by consuming it in its entirety. I don't think that I will again be prepared to set aside what seems like half my waking life to eating another one of their baguettes. I would far prefer one of those crusty white rolls with black sprinkles that used to at one time be delivered to your door in a basket of assorted breads by your local tip top man.

Rather a roll that's easy on your bank balance and your mouth than one that's going to wipe out half your savings with the other half going to the dentist who repairs your broken teeth.

You should feel gypped. I got to third without submitting anything. Other than unsolicited opinions.

Edit: new bf term “gyppedbythegimp”

Apologies to any Gypsies out there

Many many many likes. I hate brioche! At some point in the 2000s, posh hamburger joints (you know who you are) stopped using soft white Aussie buns in favour of those yellowy sticky sweet things from France. WTAF.
Agree re Brioche.

I'm also really happy that Maccas KFC, HJ etc have that really soft nothingy sweet bread.

Stops me from eating their crap, how bad are those buns!!!!

I nominated sideswipe to get him on the ladder to assuage his hurt feelings. Gimp overstepped putting him above you VP. Out of order for sure.

I think Maccas has even gone to some tryhard brioche on their Big Macs. I have sworn off them. Since last Tuesday.

Better chance of staying out for a good length of time depending on your destinations attitude to foreigners during this time
