I've just discovered that Harry Styles, after previously cancelling his 2022 Australian tour, has announced dates for a 2023 tour.

The tears of bitter disappointment once shed by my hairdresser will now turn to tears of joy. She will be a happy hairdresser, which means my hair will be happy, which means I've booked in for a haircut ASAP.

I can’t quite shake the mask habit, and may continue to wear them in some settings, eg indoor retail. At least until the daily numbers go down (a lot).

Understand VP. I see many people continue to wear them in supermarkets and other retail settings. I'll have it with me and am likely to wear one if I suspect that I'm coming down with something. It seems the considerate thing to do.

Already have one in the left; was diagnosed with industrial hearing loss after my military service. Mortar shells, tanks, and jets are pretty loud buddy. So is my mother-in-law but the damage was done earlier.

I wear an N95 all day every day at work, and feel naked without it now outside work. I am yet to catch COVID and am putting up PBs with my running, so I’m likely to keep wearing the mask liberally while it helps keep me from catching this shit.

Likewise have not caught it, and nor have any close family or friends. Just good luck I guess. But amongst them are some very vulnerable people, for a variety of reasons, so keeping up precautions works for all of us.

E.g. over Easter we went to Port Fairy, but didn’t catch up with an old family friend who is pretty much house bound. They have very poor lung capacity and even though vaccinated to the teeth, they have been advised to stay home and stay safe and preferably not mix with too many people. This is not over for them.

Similarly I work with chemotherapy patients on a regular basis, I can live with looking even less fashionable than usual by wearing a mask when most consider it excessive, if it helps those poor folks out. They have it hard enough.

And there was an outbreak recently at Frankston Hospital apparently, when the family member of a chemo patient pulled down her mask to give her loved one a kiss on arrival. The immunocompromised are so susceptible.

Sorry brother, I’m not conflating the two. The mask has done nothing for my running ability, except to assist in giving me an unbroken block of training which has pretty much lasted since the last time I had a gastroscopy for unexplained abdo pain. I haven’t had a cold/flu/COVID for years.
