Top Gun - Maverick.

Does the original justice and arguably supercedes it.

Excellent action flick. Tom Cruise is on top of his game; lives it and breathes it.

Respect for the scale of such a production, I now understand why the movie took so long to finish.

The visuals are FMD level awesome, outstanding cinematography. It's a big screen movie.

Jets, afterburners, buff bodies, and it even pushed a few of my emotional buttons because I remember watching the original as a cadet; I got soppy.

Mate said the same thing. I’ll admit to being a fan of the little man but put off by a revisiting of the character. Looks like a big screen movie as well.

Thoroughly enjoyable flic. Mrs J, who is no big fan of the genre liked it.

I couldn't imagine my poor sweet mum asking me to take her to watch the movie and me politely refusing... then palming the job off to my son. 🤷‍♂️

PS Am I the only one who saw L.Ron on an F18 wing ?

PPS fun fact - the Scientologists threw me out of Melbourne HQ when I was 18 for being annoying and I grabbed a fistful of biscuits on the way out

I’ve conceded and agreed to go with MrD, so it’s gold class for us next Friday (he wanted to go last Thursday when it opened so making him wait a week was not cool in his book). Top Gun is up there in his top 5 movies of all time so for the sake of marital harmony I’m there buuuut, Tom Cruise, it’s difficult …. there better not be any “I feel the need. The need for speed” dialogue going on or you will all feel the supersonic eyerolls occurring next Friday night.

You might be pleasantly surprised. Mrs J didn't need as much convincing as your good self but she walked away thinking it was cinema-worthy.

Mr D will be a happy-chappy. It's just like you girls to make the poor guy wait. :)
