Of the old school - when they used to run 5 patients at a time on TENS machines after doing a bit of ultrasound. Walls of cash to be made.

He was always the friendly dad who would let us drink underage, talk footy, shoot bows at targets in their suburban backyard, etc. And then he became coach. It all changed. The nastiest thing he said to me was when I made a smart comment about another player he was berating and punishing,

"Sideswipe, why don't you run those laps with X so for once you won't be able to f-k up my drills. Whilst running, maybe ask X how to hit a f****** target you useless c*"

Or something like that. I mean. I barely remember. It was only 28 years ago.

I remember going to a physio - being placed on a machine and he'd drop in now and then - remember thinking "how many patients have you got at once - is this a racket or not".

One year ago today , at high noon on the 1st September 2021 you became the coach of Collingwood FC

Let 1st September 2022 , be the next chapter for Collingwood of a successful September Magpie Swooping season

It has been a very enjoyable first year for all of us supporters of Collingwood , lets continue on and make it an ultimate year to remember in the coming weeks

Cracking interview and provides a real insight into how Fly has changed this club. As a Pies supporter I clearly want our boys to do well, but I have an extra desire for success to reward Fly's contribution and the team's belief in this new culture.
And I have to agree with Gilly, if Krueger plays - get angry, lad!

Personally I'd lost a lot of faith in the club by 2020. Not the win loss thing but the character of the club. We just seemed to reek of being a pr, corporate, win at all costs mob. McRae's had circumstances on his side, coming in at the right time for a lot of talent to fire and a degree of empty space with larger than life personalities like Bucks and Eddie moving on. That said he seems to be bringing a strength and set of values so appropriate to the role for the Pies right now. What do you want from a coach when you have so many individual experts in the coaching team. I think you want the leadership skills and the ability to bring the best out of all members in the team rather than the focus being on their individual dominance or brilliance. Such a humble bloke and so full of heart. And it is just the beginning.

Of course we back them. But there is no doubt the list must be improved in a few areas to give Fly the ammunition he needs to take us all the way.
