Why don't the Demons simply revert back to their old logo? It rocked. On the other hand, their current logo is an eyesore.

Just something I have been working on. Nothing really special, just playing around a bit. It's rather small, enlarging would affect the detail obviously, oh well.

Looks like the Dees are getting rid of the horribly bland "square" logo.
The header on the website doesn't show that logo and instead has the new 09 demon.
Looks like that could be a part of the new logo.
I made a few mock-up logos a couple of months back using that new demon - take a look:
I was experimenting with colours and backgrounds, therefore there is 3 logos.
Tell me which one you like the best.
#1: Navy demon and script on red background
#2: Red demon and navy script on a white background
#3: Red and white demon and white script on a navy background

I like the look of the third one.

I wouldn't say that mate. If you look around the site a bit, the square logo still features prominantely. IIRC, Freo had just the anchor on their web banner for a period last year or the year before - it didn't mean they were phasing out the docker-man.
From past experience, all new logos are released officially before the new year - for merchandising, recruiting and membership reasons. So don't expect the demon to be back in 2010.
The last thing Melbourne wants now is brand-confusion.

I guess the third one is OK. I'm just not a huge fan of that demon though... iI can't help seeing a loveheart that borders the face.

It's okay but I think they could do better than that. They're mascot is a demon, that has cool written all over it. They don't have to go all out satanic but they could have something a bit meaner/darker.

still a work in progress. but the flame M is gone, a new font and the red yolk has been added. still not sure if it looks enough a part of the design tho and not too stuck on.
christ, this is one of the best things i've ever seen. i think with an 'FC' added under the E the club could use this as it exactly is. absolutely sensational

wouldn't be considered for a logo, because it "looks to scary"....but nonetheless this is epic. it's a logo that certainly draws attention...it isn't boring or bland, and it certainly isn't too busy...kudos to you, hack!

I dont like any crows logo I have seen so far, so have had a crack based on some of the best ideas already posted. A first attempt, if I can I might try to convert it into a shield somehow.
