i actually feel so motivated to use illustrator, someone gives us a sick modern template and ill get started

Also, look more into the Country Footy Project, it's what inspired me to start learning Illustrator and I feel I've improved with both it and the Pen tool in general all around

Do what Andonis1997 (?) did and pick a picture of something like a car out and try to trace it entirely using the pen tool. Look up some YT tutorials on the basic functions and go from there, trial and error will make you better.

I actually enjoy doing basic graphic design tutorials I find on the web and completing those. I found a great rainbow fire tutorial that finally pushed me to learn Ai as you need to draw the physical flames that you're going to produce

Agree.

You learn little tricks that you never knew about that make you a much more effective designer.

Plus you pick up some cool design and logo ideas

Yeah I've since traced 3 cars and a jet. Great way to learn the tool.

Unfortunately two of my cars were on the school drive which gets deleted every year

In the left side of the screen, there's two coloured squares. The big solid square is your foreground colour, and the smaller, cut out square is the stroke. Click the stroke square (so it's in front) and click the symbol below of a white square with a red line through it. This gets rid of the stroke.

Alternatively, double clicking the stroke box open a colour panel so you can change the colour of the stroke you're using
