Looks like the ODI game on Australia Day on Friday is selling poorly. Early forecast of 40 degrees now down to 38 haven't helped. Got this email from Adelaide oval offer 2 for the price of 1 tickets about half an hour ago.

Bring a friend for free to the Gillette ODI on Australia Day!
There is nothing more Australian than a day at the cricket with your mate, especially on Australia Day, and now you can both come for the price of one ticket (Platinum or Gold).

It’s going to be hot, so for the best chance of shade on the day take advantage of the 2 for 1 ticket offer* in the Platinum and Gold seating areas, using the code word: CRICKETMATE

Even more disappointing is that the Redbacks will be without 4 players just for some stupid Mickey Mouse comp that the Aussies will almost certainly lose.
There goes any chance of SA making the Shield final & breaking that long drought, sack the $ACA board & current Australian selectors!!!

The logjam will hit both the Strikers and the Redbacks. The international T20 features 3 Strikers players, Travis Head, Billy Stanlake and Alex Carey but 4 players who are in the Redbacks team, Travis Head, Adam Zampa, Alex Carey and Kane Richardson. Rashid Khan is also likely to be an absentee if the Strikers make the Big Bash final as Afghanistan take on Zimbabwe. That series is T20's and ODI's. There are no T20's in the South Africa tour.
The T20 series goes from 3-21 February and in that period SA have two Sheffield Shield games, against Victoria at AO on 8-11 Feb and NSW at the SCG on 16-19 Feb.
And the international T20 series will hit the Strikers harder than the other teams. The Scorchers lose Ashton Agar and Andrew Tye but can choose from the Marsh brothers and Jhye Richardson to replace them, while the only other finals team with a significant loss is The Hurricanes with D'Arcy Short. The Renegades should have little problem in covering the loss of Kane Richardson.

Hello BF family,

I have 3 strikers membership and trying to get tickets online through ticketek to the final. Does anyone know what the password to enter is ameant to be?

I have tried my membership number, password to strikers site, and password to ticketek site.

You cannot call them as it looks like the Perth game went on sale at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

Public access will open soon and you can see the good seat are disappearing

They must be struggling for ticket sales for tomorrow's Australia Day ODI.

Just got a message from CricketAus with my local cricket clubs name offering a 2 for 1 deals Platinum and Gold Ticket giving the best chance of shade.

LOL!.

Why the **** is Carey batting at 6??

You tell me. The way he and Jake Weatherald batted we could have had a pretty decent score. As expected the outgoing batters would have toed the team line and not said anything but one theory was postulated by Rahul on the cricinfo commentary.

"I'm guessing the Strikers are preparing for Carey's imminent absence by batting him down the order?"

Which, if it was true, was probably the most stupid decision since Mayor Larry Vaughn declared the beaches of Amity open.

No wonder they were offering 2for 1 tickets. There are plenty of vacant seats.

After yesterday's 5/8 from England I checked for some other low scores at the fall of wickets in internationals. The first list is test records, The second is ODI records.

And here is the ODI where Sri Lanka were 5/6 and still won. Bangladesh not only had them 5/6 but 8/114 and they only lost to a career best ODI score from Muttiah Muralitharan.

The current test between SA and India is finely balanced, with SAF 1/17 chasing 241 for the win on a very dodgy pitch. So dodgy that play was called off when a ball hit Dean Elgar in the face and several other Indian players had been hit on the fingers during the day. The officials/teams decided that the test will continue, but there was also late rain which put an end to day 3 anyway. Will be interesting to see what happens today.

England won't be confident of a win unless they score at least 350. With the score as it is at the moment(2/140 after 23.3) England should be about 180-190 after 30 and the old adage of doubling the score in the last 20 overs should happen with this pitch as true as it is.
Australia have saved at least 7 runs that I have noticed in the last 5 overs with good fielding. They need to keep this up and apply pressure so that wickets fall. If England are 2 down after 30 they will be able to accelerate.

EDIT : Australia did exactly that, kept up the pressure which led to rash shots from England and seven catches in the deep. After England lost their 3rd wicket at 157 wickets fell pretty regularly and they could not get into a rhythm. As I said, it is a 300-350 pitch and even with a good bowling performance England are right on the back foot.
