I don't know what happened to Jake Lehmann. When he started out he looked to have a Test career in front of him. He scored three centuries and averaged 44.50 in his first season but since then he has lost his way. His first class average currently stands at 32.64 and he gets to 50 often enough but does not go on with it.
I think he fell into the hole most of SA does, picked on name/reputation/eduscation, shows potential so isn’t challenged and falls into mediocrity. Continues to get selected because the relationships built over the years of getting a good ride.

It isn’t coincidental that our most successful years in the last 25-30 came under a Victorian, Darren Berry who wasn’t scared to challenge the status quo. Hopefully Chicksy, after a fair stint away from SA has the strength and conviction to tell the establishment to jam it, when required!

Probably mentioned here or elsewhere, but I love the idea of the Divisional Grade system, and I would have looked to go a step further adding a third tier to the set up. I would have engaged the High Schools, Prince Alfred, Saint Peters, Sacred Heart, Trinity empower these clubs and Old Schollar programs to feed into the senior grade system.

Get more kids greater exposure to the best coaching in the state and try to lift the standard of cricket throughout.

Social cricket is on struggle street and has been for quite a while. Churches and Independent Leagues dead, Para Districts with 1 and a half 2 Day comps 6 Limited overs comps but about 8 forfeits last weekend. Barossa and Light strong and healthy, Suburban seems indifferent from a distance, Hills comp seems strong and healthy. But Cricket within Metro Adelaide, outside of the Turf Association should be much stronger.

Wow SA cruising to victory. Need 36 from 108, 9 wickets in hand. Mac Harvey with a ton at SR122, still going. Drew passed 50, also still in...

Edit: just waiting for the traditional crumble of 9/30 but please just get it done lol

Popped in to grab the wicket of the guy who scored half of India's runs.
Not getting selected to take wickets.

Unfortunately the hands went at at a ball leaving him which openers don’t do, opposed to batting at 4 where the lateral movement is far less.

Vs India A
Konstas 0 (open). 16........ 3 (4).......... 20*
Harris.. 17 (open) 36....... 74 (open)..... 0
Bancroft 0 (3)..... 16....... 3 (3)............ 0
McSwe.. 39 (4)... 88*...... 14 (open)..... 25

At least McSweeney has gotten 4 starts out of 4 innings.

McSweeney has got the test opening gig.
Adam Gilchrist isn't happy - he says Josh Inglis is one of the top six batsmen in the country, and should have been picked as Khawaja's opening partner.

I think there was an 'old and bold' from just about every state spruiking for their guy. Tom Moody had been banging on about Bancroft's "body of work" until even he had to accept that Cam is now the new corpse with pads on.
