From above post - The average number of tests played by those 220 players ( who debuted since 1st Nov 1970) is 26.4 test and the median test player in that group of 220, has played 12 tests.

SACA players who have got to that statistical average test player post 1970 or close to it but more than the 147 year average of 20.4.

Greg Chappell 87 Tests, 7110 runs, 53.86 avg.
Rodney Hogg 38 Tests, 123 wickets, 28.24 avg.
Jason Gillespie 71 Tests, 259 wickets, 26.13 avg.
Greg Blewett 46 Tests, 2552 runs, 34.02 avg.
Darren Lehmann 27 Tests, 1798 runs, 44.95 avg.
Tim May 24 Tests, 75 wickets, 34.74 avg.
Wayne Phillips 27 Tests, 1484 runs, Avg 32.28
David Hookes 23 Tests 1306 runs, 34.37 Avg.

Travis Head 51 Tests 3413 runs 43.20 Avg
Alex Carey 34 Tests 1411 runs 31.35

Edit 87 of the 220 players who have debut for Oz since 1 November 1970 have played 20 tests or more. Not sure if 10 out of 87 is a good result?? Its probably the fact that only 3 of 42 have made it to 50 tests or more and only 2 of 29 have made it to 70 tests or more given Tassie have 2 have played 100+ tests, ie Ponting and Boon.

Ryan Harris played 27 Tests, took 113 wickets, 23.52 Avg, but after many years playing for the SACA's moved to Queensland and played a couple of years there before making his test debut.

Nathan Lyon started playing for the SACA's after coming from country NSW then Canberra, but went back to NSW after playing 22 Tests for Oz in April 2013.

Gillespie quits as Pakistani coach after 8 months.

That must nearly be a record length of time anyone has coached that team.
Bob Woolmer did if for 3 years before he was murdered at 2007 WC, but 12 months or less has been the norm since then.

Rain stopped play and we haven't got to the New Year Test in Sydney yet. Forecast does not look good and there is rain everywhere on the Brisbane weather radar.

Australia batting 0/19.

Looks like they're about to resume, but they may be lucky to last until the scheduled lunch break.

Makes ca’s decision to give them the D/N ashes test even more baffling, combined with them wanting a replacement stadium for the yabba 🤦🏻‍♂️.

On another note one of the covers used for the wickets looks like someone’s oversized pyjamas 🤣

Queensland weather radar shows the rain front is centered right over Brisbane. Plenty of red areas in the rain front. The weather may clear but it looks like they will be off and on for the rest of the day. To make matters worse rain is forecast for the next four days.

The forecast was for up to 15mm in Brisbane today, but they've already had 53mm since 9am.

Is this Indian team the most annoying, tiresome, boorish, whiny touring team ever to come to Australia?

They appeal everything no matter how absurd, shoosh the crowd when they take a wicket, Siraj is a total tosser who can't keep his towel tucked in.

From what I've heard pretty mouthy on the field as well.

They seem to want to behave worse than Australian teams of the 90s because they think they have the right to catch up.

Siraj definitely mouthed off at Labuschagne earlier today after that player played out a maiden over, and one of the Aussie commentators ( I think it was Gilchrist ) said `he definitely wants to say something!'

The bloke's lips were moving and he was forming words Gilly, but it wasn't loud enough to be picked up by the stump mike, or be heard by the umps.

In the good old (bad old days) of Chappell, Steve Waugh and Boof Lehman the Aussies would regularly target someone they saw as a weak link.

Waugh used to say things like `mental disintegration ' in interviews, and whilst no doubt many don't want a return to those days some of the Indians in this series have been pushing the envelope a little too far with their as you suggest boorish whining etc, and we may need to push back a little bit harder particularly with Siraj, as the signs are definitely there that he could lose the plot again!

This test right now is.......

Funnily enough i don’t think it’s a bad thing for a current team to behave like they have been.
Australia have been doing it for years and then very quick to have a go at the opposition for “crossing the line” if they do it.
The umpires seem to be sorting out anything that goes too far anyway.
To me seeing a bit of feeling between the teams makes for a better contest rather than the laughs and hugs you see in T20(and we now see in the AFL).
Yes , Siraj seems a bit of a flog but he also appears to want to win….
