Stuart Law is the unluckiest of all.

I met him the same night I met Kaspa, the whole Queensland Shield team was there celebrating a win over WA.

I don't recall Bichel being there though, he might have been on 12th man duties again with the Australian team.

You mentioned KG in the other thread, KG Cunningham can probably think himself a touch unlucky he didn't jag a baggy green along the journey.
KG did play 2nd XI for Australia on a tour to New Zealand, so he did have a baggy green, he placed it in his father's coffin upon his passing.

Cricket things that annoy me….. NSW players automatically getting the baggy green with the baggy blue, just on the vibe of it.

When people call Steve Smith an amazing slipper when he takes a screamer

No, the guy drops dollies all the time.

Mark Waugh was an amazing slipper (to be fair was brilliant wherever he fielded)
Shane Warne was an amazing slipper
Tubby Taylor was an amazing slipper

I think Steve Smith has been wasted in the slips because he was an excellent ring fielder

Commentators talking to players while the game's playing in the big bash absolutely triggers me , they just talk shit, adding nothing
Same. Adds nothing to the coverage.

Except on hat-trick deliveries. :)

I reckon Andy Bichel was similar, 12th man a shitload of times. He really became a decent bat too after a few County stints, very solid.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the east coast, Cox/Hills/Di Venuto couldn't get a Test match between them.

Incidentally, Andy Bichel and Dene Hills were born on the same day.

Michael Kasprowicz got a rougher deal than both of them imo.

Like Boland he was the back up bowler to McGrath, Lee and Gillespie and only got a gig when they got injured or bowled in India.

Sadly is probably best remembered for getting a glove to a ball from Harmison that lost the 2nd test by 2 runs in the 2005 Ashes

I am biased though as I did get to meet and share a few rum and cokes with Kaspa at a club in Perth back in 2001, ripping bloke.

He deserved better.
In 2004 big kaspa had a great year for Australia. He took 47 wickets

There's been more South Australians make their test debut in the last 10 years than NSW players....

NSW bias just isn't a thing (at least these days). Last NSW debutant was Kurtis Patterson in 2019 and he got dropped after averaging 144.

People thinking NSW bias is a thing annoys me.

He was a good cricketer and a good rugby player too, he played junior rep rugby for Qld and his brother Simon played for NSW.

He told me he missed playing rugby but cricket took over when he was good enough to be a pro cricketer, I wish I was that good.

I played junior rep rugby for WA but I was never good enough to be a pro cricketer like him.

There’s always exceptions

The old golden age of the Big Bash with packed stadiums and superstars like Warnie, McCullum, Chris Gayle and Kevin Pietersen.

You know you're getting old when you are reminiscing about the good old days of the Big Bash.

India getting their way with comps being played at neutral venues. Would love to see Pakistan making the final of the 2026 T20 World Cup forcing it to be played in Sri Lanka as a bit of payback

When people think ‘Sydney’ is a clever nickname for Nathan Mcsweeney.
Made me think for a second so I like it. Bet you don’t like Cider as a nickname for Cummins either.
Rugger is the game they play in heaven.
Rugby is a top tier football code - constant contest for possession, many varied roles combining, many different tactics and patterns of play, team discipline and collective effort rewarded - it’s a thing of beauty.

All those factors are unique to rugby in my opinion.
