these India cross promotional links in the Cricinfo commentary:

(example) Chess is as individual as a sport gets, right? Well, two teams from India went about proving that chess as a team sport can be pretty exhilarating. This is the story of how India's men's and women's teams did something unprecedent to announce their country's domination of the chess world.
The annoying thing about Indian English is how it’s so close to being right yet so far away at the same time. And I always get the sense that the slight blemishes have been baked in to the way of speaking such that it becomes a standard linguistic register, isn’t it.

“Some of them sound like questions, some of them sound like swear words. You can’t expect a man to analyse the game, commentate and then analyse three quarters of the alphabet and get a bloody name out it it. It’s just ludicrous” Bill was a true progressive thinker

To be pedantic but fast bowlers do not have 10 times their body weight going through their foot. It's not mathematically possible.
If Starc say weighs 90kg than that's 90kg of weight he doesn't suddenly have 900kg of weight just because his bowling.
It has a greater gforce if he sprints and jumps through the crease but his weight is the same. He's just harnessing that weight to greater force.
I dropped a 20kg weight on my foot from knee height the other day it didnt do as much damage as say if I dropped it from above head height which would break it due to the impact of gravity and momentum. It's still the same 20kg falling just at a different force.

90kg is mass. Weight is a force.

His weight is 882N (or kgm/s■2). They're saying there is a force of ~8000N through their leg.

I must admit I'm getting annoyed by the relentless focus on Konstas. Every time he moves in the field, the camera zooms in on him and the commentators all jerk themselves raw over him.

All this is going to do is provoke a backlash from over-exposure, after which the media will probably turn on him for "getting ahead of himself".....despite the fact that he did nothing wrong, and it was the media peeing their pants that caused all the problem.

Someone just needs to tell the sports media that less is more in general.

Andrew Condon, Sydney-based managing director of the global sports communication and digital insight firm Gemba said on LinkedIn that Konstas was the new face cricket needed but like trailblazers before him he would not please everyone.

“Sam Konstas may eventually become as polarising as David Warner and Nick Kyrgios,’’ Condon wrote.

“Many traditionalists won’t like the ‘way he goes about it’; but his confidence, youthful exuberance and sheer enjoyment of the moment is what makes him refreshing, and like Kyrgios is to tennis, he is exactly what Test cricket needs to remain relevant.

lesson: don't become like those 2.

Case in point, look at the third one. There’s also the impression I get that a majority of Indian cricket “fans” think limited overs is the best/only format of the game.

I would say that’s related to his dismissal for 98* when Anderson was run out after Taylor was given LBW and the decision was then overturned only for the run out to stand.

I would support the penalty in FC and test cricket for a front foot no-ball being 2-runs.

Needs to be more significant to counter the batsman having no opportunity to take full advantage.

Would also make some impact - a small one - on over rates. It’s only a little thing but India bowled an extra over today than their already behind rate suggested, through no balls, calling bowlers back at the end of overs etc

Language like "useless", "spud" etc. when referring to international cricketers.

Extremely jarring to me.

Agreed. I’ve been occasionally guilty of it but try to rein it in because the reality is they’re all exceptional and in 90 per cent of cases you only have to go back 4-5 games at the most to find a definitive example that they are none of those things.
