My Symonds story was flying into Guyana for 2007 world cup, I was sitting next to his girlfriend at the time & her Mum & had a good chat on the plane... not realising who they were until arrived & they were whisked through immigration control.

That world cup was complete domination as we did not lose a single game

Taity was seriously scary on those slippery decks... particularly the Bangladesh game.

I never really gave it much thought before, but Symonds was definitely in my top 5 favorite One-Day players. On his day, he could be just as dynamic as Gilchrist with the bat and probably more, as he could also bowl and field some classic catches and create run-outs.

Will forever be remembered as the only cricketer that gave onfield hooligans the hip-and-shoulder. Cricketing legend! RIP Roy.

Symonds was such a fun player to watch. Always entertaining with the bat and an absolute freak in the field.
