Like the way that they have gone back to Connolly. It'd have been easier to go Head but that is one eye on the future thinking.

Lets face it, Nicks would have subbed him
Head 4/28 bowling the Poms out.

In theory chasing 310, but gather it will be rain shortened or washes out given the rain arrived at the break.

i heard a scribe make a good point yesterday

Does anyone actually care ? I know its not possible, but they need to make cricket eay more relevant.
I know I've stopped caring. I look at the scores and I find it all meaningless

I think thats more me and the seemingly endless games now.

It used to be 7-9 Tests per year and a summer of ODI

Now it seems there is a game each week

The Womens T20 world cup has started. Australia's first game is in about an hour against Sri Lanka.

India lost to NZ overnight, so there's a real chance to screw things up for the ICC's planning

Do people ever really care about t20

ODIs provide awesome games though and should have a level of prestige about them. Tests are the pinnacle.
I don't mind watching the BBL, especially since they shortened it.

Still like a good ODI and love watching test matches.

But I also watch SACA in shield games so probably not the best guide.

I can't argue with any of that. I watch the occasional BBL match over summer, but I can't remember the last time I bothered watching a T20I. Actually, it's a long time since I've bothered watching an ODI as well - CA really killed any interest in them when they put them behind a paywall.

With the World Cups now behind a paywall as well, the chance of me bothering to watch T20I and ODI cricket in the future is becoming vanishingly small.

... I still watch Test Matches played in Australia though.

They only allowed him into test cricket using pseudo science to justify his place but we all know it was the ICC trying to avoid racism claims. This is what everyone over looked in the argument. Ok whether he had an unusual bend in his elbow or not, he still should have been forced to change his action to a conventional action. Instead he was allowed to essentially throw it giving him an advantage by being able to manipulate the ball like others couldn't.

Now cricket is littered with f grade throwers who look better then they are because they cheat and the ICC created this out of racism.

Ive voiced my opinion on t20 as a concept so I wont go into it. But watching BBL over the years I remember a few games like when Head scored 50 off the last 3 overs to steal a match. Ok that was good. But its not skill, it relies on a combination of luck and pure shit bowling by hack c grade grade cricketers elevated for bbl and just swinging the bat as hard as you can at cow corner. Over half of them were top edges that went over ridiculously short boundaries.

Pay TV is the worst decision any professional sport can make. Yet, the greed of players make it necessary. Always comes at the expense of kids though.

Problem was that Murali already had 180 test wickets when he was first no balled and was a national hero.

When they started testing bowlers, they found that most bowlers chucked to a certain extent. Murali had 12 degrees of straightening during his action but even a bowler as seemingly pure as Glenn McGrath had over 10.

That was where the 15 degree threshold came from. Yeah, from a cynical point of view you could argue it was an arbitrary figure reached to enable Murali to play. But there were a bunch of other unquestioned bowlers who also fell narrowly under the threshold.

One of the biggest misconceptions people have is they say Murali bowled with a bent arm. With still photos to prove it. Yep, he did. Except there are no rules against bowling with a bent arm, and there never have been.
