30 touches at 80% efficiency, 3 marks, 8 tackles, 12 contested possessions, 517 metres gained, 10 clearances, 6 inside 50s, 8 score involvements and a casual 4 goals to go along with all of that.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Patty Cripps is back to his best.

Cripps had a good game, hopefully his form continues for Carltons sake.

Nice game from Cripps. Master v apprentice type performance.

Just hope Oliver is OK after Lochie O’Brien almost killed him with that monster tackle in the third quarter.

Good to see Cripps moving well tonight, looked powerful and capable of contributing on the spread again too.

Oliver has levelled up the last couple of years while Cripps has been a shadow of himself with injury, it's a seriously close call if both are at 100%.
Agreed - comparable playstyles too. Cripps has a better ability to find space but Oliver has a better ability to generate space with his kicks. I really like both players and hope Crippa can keep that form rolling.

Didn't you watch the game dumb ass?
Nope. Preseason games don’t mean much when you don’t follow a shit team.

I recall Shane Woewodin played a few good games for Collingwood after his one good season too. Didn’t mean anything. He still finished his career a plodder.

Some bad habits creeping into Clayton Oliver’s game. Not sure he will be trying to fend Cripps off again after being caught cold on a couple of occasions.

Also flopped badly after being clattered into by our enforcer Lochie O’Brien.

Meanwhile Cripps went about his business, copping clearances and kicked a bag while playing midfield all game.

I think a Matt Kennedy v Clayton Oliver poll would be much closer.

Never change La <3

You Melbum supporters are reading from the Richmond chest puff playbook playbook - your midfield played the whole game as did Carlton's - and I know which midfield won quite easily - with a young bloke called Walsh to come in after the first 4 rounds - just for shits and giggles
… The only ones puffing their chests out are Carlton supporters, and it’s all over a preseason game they won by five points 😂😂😂

The Dees gave it a crack, the Blues were just far more clinical and tough in the clinches before putting the cue in the rack at half time, taking off the reigning Coleman medalist and playing Lachie Plowman at full forward.

Not a bad result with the Bluebaggers missing their 3 best players for the majority of the game.

No Walsh, no Weitering, no Curnow, Docherty, no McKay (for a half), NO WORRIES.

And at one stage our starting forward six was Parks, Pittonet, Williamson, Fisher, Cottrell and Plowman - not a single genuine forward in the entire front 6. The fact that we kicked any goals in the second half was incredible.

no one 'wins' praccy game dumbass:moustache: but boy oh boy - your 'hard nut' mids were schooled big time - very funny

Even when Melbourne were a rabble I never got this excited about winning a preseason game, lol.

You're literally resorting to practice matches to pump up Cripps. That's awesome :thumbsu:

Mate no one is 'excited about winning a game you;ve already been told no one 'wins' praccy matches - it was just fun watching your awesome midfield get pantsed.

and if you think no one cared have a look at your Captain gong apeshit at them during and after that praccy match - the only Club takin the pizz was Carlton which decided to take its forward line off after half time and play with 17 blokes for your 'rebound' in Q3 -

many LOLS were haad watching the praccy match

The Dees players were pretty frustrated for a team taking it easy and going through the motions - against what was essentially the Blues reserves by the end of the game.

Hope the Dees medicos were smart enough to stay out of Goodwin’s way after the match.

At least La Dispute is good at it. You seem just a shade too happy about the win to be convincing.

I have never once referred to the game result as a 'win'....and like everyone else doesn't take the 'results' in a praccy match to mean anything much. What we look is change and improvement in how the team plays as a team and Carlton is coming from a long long way back as far as that goes...

but yeah 100% for sure I am happy with the way Carlton's new look midfield played in the warm up matches. Its a new thing for Carlton supporters to see a midfield structure and game plan that is actually competitive.

As for Cripps V Oliver comps - who cares it is a banterish nuffery contest of type words. Oliver is my favourite Melbourne mid and I think your second best week in week out player - would look great in Blue!

Carlton absolutely looked good the other day. I was working so didn't catch the whole game, but what I did see was some kamikaze ball movement, crunching tackles and super focus. Don't think the Melbourne players expected it at all.
